Midfielder available
Bryce Gibbs. Yep, he is 30 but is massively on the outer at the Crows. If we wanted a midfielder that can get the footy and kick well into the forward half then he can do that. Shame he is 30 and I can't see him wanting to play in the SANFL the rest of his career.

Re: Midfielder available
Should add, contracted to Crows for 2020.
Could still play 3-4 years.
Leader also.

Re: Midfielder available
Decent player but probably too old now.
We have a young list and yes we could do with older wiser heads but the fact that we drafted mayo a 19 yr old when i thought that we could do with a forward who could come straight into the side , shows that they are probably looking for long term players and gibbs would not be it .

A mid well past his best that never lived up to the hype, that would come in on big money whose last trade was difficult
Terrible idea

5 years?
What tripe.
Gibbs wouldn't be a bad pickup for 3 years. Depends on the costs involved though.

Let’s get Daisy Thomas as well.
Gibbs for 3 years?
In 2023 you want 33 year old Gibbs and beaten up 31 year old Hannebery in our midfield, you’ll probably want to give Kent an extension as well.
All this from the person who regularly bemoans how posters on this site “know nothing about football“.
Personally I’d prefer to draft and develop young midfield talent and target midfielders like Steele who are starved of opportunity, but each to their own Ted.
Perhaps contact the club and pitch your dads arm theory, they could probably use a good chuckle

Re: Midfielder available
All completely taken out of context by yourself Corfe of course and then you throw in a couple of blatantly mischievous diversion tactics with references to Daisy Thomas and a Dad's army. Plus the reference to Kent makes no sense at all as he is 24-25 years old. Why are you acting like a pre schooler with these comments?
This is a forum to discuss ideas and thoughts. Midfield strength is built through a number of areas and that is done by recruiting both new and seasoned players. If the Saints are on the brink of finals soonish then a Bryce Gibbs who can still bloody play could increase our midfield depth. Again, it all depends on the trade and contract but its worth discussing nonetheless. It is a harmonious forum to discuss Saints footy after all.

If he can add consistency to his performance he’ll go from fringe player to solid AFL footballer.
15 posies, 3 goals and 4 tackles in Shanghai please

Re: Midfielder available
Teds 2023 saints centre line:
Daisy Thomas (34) Hannebery (31) Gibbs (33)
By the time your finished it will be like the old days when Carlton has beens came to Moorabbin to retire.
Who else should we target Ted, big names with plenty of footy ahead of them like....
Jarrod Roughead?
Buddy Franklin?
Gary Ablett junior?
Gary Ablett senior?
Oh Ted, great recruiting strategy

Good to see the boys are in a bulkhead seat or emergency exit row - bit of room to stretch out those legs!!

Re: Midfielder available
Gibbs suffers from the same disease as many midfielders at this time of season.
They become downhill skiers.
You got to love climate change.
Skiing available before the season opens
But I digress a bit.
Gibbs is a downhill skier and Adelaide have identified it a little too late.
His spread is lazy and his defensive run is non existent.
I hate to say it, and will get howled down for disloyalty, but we have midfielder who does not run hard when the opposition is going forward but catches a fresh breathe of wind with ball in hand.
Can you guess who I am talking about ?

It is known as cattle class for a reason.
Give me a horizontal flat bed in business class every time for a long haul flight.
It only cost 4 times as much.
