You can see why the Subiaco key full-forward has attracted attention from AFL clubs.
The 19-year-old, who finished the home-and-away season as the competition’s leading goal-kicker with 48 majors, continued his strong form.
Mayo, who will join teammate Hickmott at the state draft combine next month, nailed his 50th goal for the year and second for the match early in the last term when the game was in the balance.
He has a great set of hands, a booming left boot and is a good size at 192cm.

They are surely taking the piss with another Jack.

Re: Jack Mayo
Paddy fill in. Obviously can kick a goal.
As we know, plenty of good players get overlooked in the drafts like Wilkie.
Will be interesting to see him in action.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Jack Mayo
I think the upside with this guy is his ability to spread. Adds another flavour to our forward line, too.

Re: Jack Mayo
Does he come across straight away? If so I imagine he'll be playing at Sandy this weekend so we can get a look at him.
Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Re: Jack Mayo
Hope is injury concerns are behind him for all our sake this site will explode otherwise
From hi draft year .....
Height 192cm
Weight 81kg
Birthday November 5
STRENGTHS: Marking, goalkicking, skills, vertical jump, speed
IMPROVEMENTS: Durability
SUMMARY: After missing two and a half years of football with knee injuries, Mayo returned with a bang in 2018. He won the WAFL Colts Leading Goalkicker Award with 50 goals from 20 games, was named full forward in the WAFL Colts Team of the Year, finished equal third in the Jack Clarke Medal and sixth in his club’s Best & Fairest. When on song, Mayo is powerful in one-on-one contests, has speed to break away from his direct opponent – recording 2.95 seconds in the 20m sprint at the State Combine, and is a precise kick for goal. He also covers the ground very well and is able to take plenty of uncontested marks – with an 84cm running vertical jump – and is also a great field kick. The only query about Mayo is whether his past injuries are truly behind him.

Re: Jack Mayo
Surely this site won't 'explode' over a dud mid-year rookie, if he doesn't work out? I think, of something like 160 mid-year draft picks, only 6 have gone on to play more than 100 games...it's a real roll of the dice. FWIW, I'm glad we picked a young prospect who might turn into a good player, rather than a gap filler.

There are several posts on this site about picking injured players Bytel, King and Hannebery, It was that I was referring too.

Re: Jack Mayo
I think this is a great call by the recruiting team at the Saints...until it doesn't work out and that is clearly going to be Richos fault...

Re: Jack Mayo
Rookie draft and mid season draft is where we should be taking punts like Mr Mayo.. not our first and second rounders every year

Re: Jack Mayo
Maybe Mayo can give our forwards a clinic on kicking goals. It could be called the Mayo Clinic.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Jack Mayo
Errr .... sorry which first and second rounders (apparently in every year) were punts again?mightysainters wrote: ↑Mon 27 May 2019 11:02pm Rookie draft and mid season draft is where we should be taking punts like Mr Mayo.. not our first and second rounders every year
Was it King that was rated top 5 or Clark and Coffield who were both rated top 10 by many clubs .... or was iit Gresham and Carlisle or .maybe Billings Acres or Dunstan?
The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!
