Good move for everyone. Gets us an extra pick and Paddy can't reinjure.
Sad for him but he should probably retire and have a normal life, hopefully unaffected by his knocks.

Re: Paddy out for the year
We need to get rid of the political correctness disease.
Political correctness that did not call out the stupidity of taking a player suffering from type 1 diabetes.
If this continues we will soon draft a player who is disabled by only having one leg.
We may even select an indigenous player for the indigenous round despite poor form.

This smells of desperation to pick yet another underdone bloke from the 'burbs (unless we can get what would be a low pick in the national draft at the end of the year).older saint wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2019 12:30pm Obviously have identified someone at in mid season they want to grab

We've promised East Doncaster we'll leave them alone in this draft.Jacks Back wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2019 2:12pmThis smells of desperation to pick yet another underdone bloke from the 'burbs (unless we can get what would be a low pick in the national draft at the end of the year).older saint wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2019 12:30pm Obviously have identified someone at in mid season they want to grab

I agree that pc considerations also affects win/loss but it is only a game.

Re: Paddy out for the year
Do we need to pick anyone? We filled up earlier this year with mid season drafted types eg rowe, marsh so why waste time and money on someone we don't need. My limited knowledge is that the drafted will contain players not in the top 90 draftee players six months earlier. Seems like long shots, all of them

Didn't happen, they are players in the Bargain Bin- "clearance" items.
Seen these at the supermarket, damaged packaging, or close to use-by date.
Discounted for a reason.

Re: Paddy out for the year
Paddy should never play again. I saw the knock that concussed him and really it wasn't that hard a knock.
I don't care what the doctors say, he is in danger of permanent brain injury if hasn't already got it.

Re: Paddy out for the year
Poor guy, I'm shattered for him.
This is bloody serious, there is no way he plays again for mine.
I think Paddy will come to that conclusion eventually too, right now I don't think he's ready to make that decision.

Re: Paddy out for the year
We need a big forward; priority pick next draft for #1 draft playing less than 50 games, Bytel and King to be good players sooner rather than later, and a dynamic successful coach. But its mid season draft not Aladdin's lamp.

Listen to the Triple M interview online pre game.
Paddy needs to retire for his own good. Forget football. Its heart breaking to listen to. He still gets headaches sleeping. He can't even drive a car to the shops at the moment. This all relating to his head knock pre season. Unbelievable.

In all seriousness though, I can’t believe he’s even considering playing AFL (or football) again. Is he just sticking around to get the free medical care or something?

Re: Paddy out for the year
Those comments alone should make it clear that he should be retiring this season. A head knock that appeared innocuous almost 3 months ago is causing such significant and life disruptive symptoms? Seriously, even if his symptoms subside by next year, he will be back fighting them off again the minute he is involved in another bump or collision.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sun 26 May 2019 8:21pm Listen to the Triple M interview online pre game.
