Re: Coaches votes Round 9 v Magpies
Grundy got 5 & 4
Sidebottom got 4 & 5
Means Dunstan got 3 & 2
Someone else got the other 3 that must be Pendelbury 3 & 0
So someone got 2 & 0 and someone else got 1 & 1 Membry & Reid
My guess Richo gave
Sidebottom 5
Grundy 4
Dunstan 3
Membry 2
Reid 1
My guess Buckley gave
Grundy 5
Sidebottom 4
Pendelbury 3
Dunstan 2
Reid 1

a lot of that was when he was in our forward line and Marshal had the instructions to stay out

You know that for certain? So, my point is, Marshall should have impacted more, given he was without his main opponent.
Not saying Marshall played badly, however a players job is to beat their opponent, if not at least compete, not allow them to be BOG! Not vote deserving in my opinion.
Some are getting a little carried away with Marshall and his performances.

Some can't get over the fact that Longer has been relegated to the VFL.
I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of marks and possessioms that Billy earnt and thought he deserved a recall
Sadly, even after Longer had exceptional games he can't crack a spot in the seniors because the coaching staff think Marshall is a way, way better option. Or what could be even sadder is that they don't believe that Longer has a future at St Kilda

King12 is correct. Marshall was beaten and should not be receiving votes IMO and I am a big fan.Josh Battle wrote: ↑Tue 21 May 2019 5:42pm Some can't get over the fact that Longer has been relegated to the VFL.

We are looking at rucks because Alabakis is so far off we could not play him even if all the other recognised rucks went down. Pierce is already down so we only have 2 fit rucks currently on our list.
Billy is highly regarded by the Saints - we did keep him over Hickey. He is just not as good as Marshall. Still a great back-up ruck for us if Marshall goes down IMO.

Re: Coaches votes Round 9 v Magpies
Cut the crap. Seb Ross regularly gets votes when his midfield opponents destroy us. Even Richo has given Ross votes in the coaches association award when we have been soundly beaten as a team and Seb is supposed to be a leader as well as a midfielder
I don't want RoMa to get ahead of himself and it's up to the coaches to keep developing the kid, but don't tell me a poster is correct and so are all decisions of the St Kilda footy club when we have flip flopped on ruckman so many times during the Richo years.
We accidently traded Hickey and failed to develop him and take advantage of his outstanding form in 2016; Plus don't forget that Hickey was recruited because we got rid of Ben McEvoy and didn't rate what he offered as a footballer; and we got rid of Rhys and couldn't develop him properly either

Re: Coaches votes Round 9 v Magpies
Not correct Josh!
We didn't accidentally trade Hickey, that is total rubbish.
A players job is to defeat/ at least square the contest against their direct opponent, Marshall did neither.
Ross very rarely plays in one opponent directly, 2 totally different situations.
I'm glad at least your namesake can play.

Re: Coaches votes Round 9 v Magpies
Who is? The coach for not playing Billy now when his form warrants a recall or the club for moving on Stanley and McEvoy or the coach for originally backing Pierce instead of Marshall
