Sounds like if he can stay injury free, we may have finally unearthed our next big star... very promising so farsamoht wrote: ↑Sun 19 May 2019 9:09pmNo way. Long did a few things at the end... but was unsighted early.
That third goal (I think) that King kicked from 55m out - it travelled 15 metres past the post ... even if it was wind assisted, it wasn’t too shabby.
King needs to put on 10 kegs ... but he’s a great pack mark thanks to his standing vertical leap and timing.
Think of Membrey’s exquisite timing when he plucks the ball from overhead, but with the benefit of another 20 cms of reach.

Yet to be proven but I can imagine King would have a thumping kick. Most guys that size do

Re: VFL Rd 7 Sandringham sv Essendon- TBBO
I was at the game. Behind the Sautner goals all day - the end the wind was blowing to.
King's first goal was due to a dreadful Essendon pass that went straight to him. Easy shot right in front.
For the rest of the game he seemed very tentative and was outmarked several times overhead.
The long goal that he kicked was great but one of many kicked to that end by both sides.
I couldn't really see the one at the other end on an angle.
He did miss from 20m out directly in front at the Sautner end early in the last quarter though.
Kick out went coast to coast and resulted in a 12 point turnaround goal to Essendon that snuffed the game out.
He looks like a young Kosi running around and will certainly benefit from some time in the weight room.
An exciting future prospect no the less but way off playing seniors on today's showing.

I agree.
He looked lost for a quarter and a half, but was able to slowly get himself involved.
Has missed a lot of football, and needs to build himself up.

On the other hand, he kicked 4 goals in basically 2 and a half quarters of football.... if you take into account he didn’t get close to it for the first quarter and a half.
And he took a couple of impressive contested marks flying against 3 or 4 talls ... we can’t take them away from him.

King looks like a star in the making.
After the game the Police made a bad error.
They set up a .05 /drug testing station outside the Sandy hotel.
Trouble was all the druggy fans at TBO were heading north after the game not south!

The fact that King kicked goals from limited opportunities is promising.
We have plenty of senior players who can’t hit the scoreboard. It’s a good quality in a forward.

Reckon King will debut against Doggies in Round 18
If 4 goals is an average showing for an 18 yo coming of a knee reco in his 2nd game against men then ............. my lid is well and truly off

His bro was average for the suns.
92 mins for 1 kick 4 HBO @ 40% de.
Let Max play out the year at sandy. Maybe a game at round 23 or something. No pressure

Completely different players & I think they’ll impact differently at the top level. Ben a straight line lead at the ball carrier forward that will struggle to find space in the forward line at the top level. More suited to the backline. Max runs & jumps & marks it at the highest point. His height together with his leap & agility makes him near on unstoppable. Will take a bit of time to deal with being bodied by his opponent but his style is far more suited to the congestive nature of the modern game cos he’ll just reach higher than 99% of the opponents he faces.

I am happy to get games in to him,
A skinny Kosi played 20 in his first season, and Roo played 22 in his second. Play em in the right spot and he will be fine.
