A bonus from 2019
We have found a number of decent players unexpectedly this year. Some may laugh but this will really create competition for spots in 2020 and bode well for the future when we have a fully fit list again. Watch this space.
Mainly:
# Marshall (definite 1st ruck and could be anything)
# Wilkie (HBF for a number of years. Looks a leader and intelligent.)
# Battle (permanent quality backman now)
# Parker (exciting up forward and can play)
# Young (1 game but looks exciting already)
# Hind (he will get a crack at it soon)
# Marsh (he will be good next year after a proper pre season)
Kent (existing player but new for us though)
Apologies if I missed someone.

Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: A bonus from 2019
Battle needs to play forward ASAP I know he’s performed manfully but he has the makings of an elite forward.
Marshall is going well I’d like him to be more defensive at times he should have spoilt a few of Grundys marks.
Parker is going ok but he and Kent have to give it off more and hit up targets. Too many goal of the year attempts.
Our best four defenders were out today we definitely get 3 back and we are a far better team with them in.
Hannebery will be a huge in do not under estimate his leadership capabilities

I agree with Marshall & Battle the others are pretty much speculation . In saying that even Marshall would struggle to get a game in a top 4 side but that's how it is I accept we a a developing team but we are miles away in the big picture IMOtedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 9:47pm We have found a number of decent players unexpectedly this year. It would be nice if Clark gets back in and shows something after the bye.
Even a bit of Max King.

Marshall would get a game in every team right now. Maybe not first ruck but would play.guitars4 wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 10:00pmI agree with Marshall & Battle the others are pretty much speculation . No worries mate I respect your opinion but if he does't ruck where does he play in a top 4 team ?CURLY wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 10:11pmMarshall would get a game in every team right now. Re: A bonus from 2019
Good post. The only problem is that none of the above named are midfielders. And in 2019 and beyond ...it’s a midfield game. Get first use from the ruck and then use it well. The entire game takes care of itself after that. That’s our entire last 1/4 experience today.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 9:47pm We have found a number of decent players unexpectedly this year. Until we get some elite midfielders - proper elite (as in ones that would get a game in any other team) - the rest is just deck chairs on the Titanic

Yep. We need 2 x mids. Badly and it showed in the last today. We are good everywhere else going forward.

Based on and Hickey’s tish they dished up last night - he’ll easily be WCE 2nd ruck b/h NicNat when he returnsguitars4 wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 10:15pmNo worries mate I respect your opinion but if he does't ruck where does he play in a top 4 team ?CURLY wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 10:11pmMarshall would get a game in every team right now. I'm prepared to say Wilkie will make it.guitars4 wrote: ↑Sat 18 May 2019 10:00pmI agree with Marshall & Battle the others are pretty much speculation .
