Don't we play Caaaaaarlton twice?

Re: I think it is quite likely that we will not
Agree, qualified by what players we get back and in form (i.e. Carslisle, Steven, Lonie, Clavarino, Gerary). I really miss Jack S and I think the team's performance does as well. We must be chances against Suns, Carlton, Melbourne and North but all seem to be improving and we are not. Carlton just don't know how to close out a game but its players that look like boys may improve rather than be worn down and if so we would be in trouble, esp. if its one of the games Kruezer is able to play. There will always be a side we meet on its off day as well. Who knows Clark and few other likely types may replace some of the old guard and give us a boost of enthusiasm.

Garbage. We'll win more games for the rest of the year than we have won so far.

Re: I think it is quite likely that we will not
We're playing a lot of the better sides now with Collingwood this Saturday, so to have already won 4 matches - and it could so easily have been 5 - has been a very decent effort. But I don't share the opinions of many on here that a) we'll play finals, and b) that we'll get back Carlisle, Paddy, Hannebury, Geary and Steven this season.
So, having said all of that, worst case scenario, here are the teams we will probably beat in the rest of season 2019; ready?: Carlton X2, Gold Coast in Townsville, Fremantle here, Melbourne at Marvel, Brisbane at Marvel. We might also beat North Melbourne in Hobart. If we win all of these 11 wins. I think 10 is the most likely, with 9 being my guess at the beginning of the season.
I have been very conservative in my estimations here, and I also think our losses will get heavier as the season draws on, particularly against Geelong at Geelong (80 points), Adelaide in Adelaide (70 points), Port Adelaide in China (60 points), and Sydney in Sydney (50 points), largely due to our inability to field a competitive side due to injuries.

Speaking of Caaaaarlton, how entertaining was it to see them throw away a potential win in the last 10 minutes!

I wouldn’t be too confident about beating Carlton once, let alone twice. Once they start winning I fear they will click into gear and become a pretty good side.
They may finish above us.

Carlton have Cripps, who I believe to be a combination of Fyfe and Bontempelli, he is such a strong, talented monster

Re: I think it is quite likely that we will not
That’s what I thought.
Had a look at a few of his posts and he’s just a bit nutty but did go to an AGM in 2003 and said he asked a question to RB about why we left Tassie. Sounds genuine.
At least he said we may win a few more games this year which is a bit more logical considering our fixture.
This block of 4 games was always going to be a massive challenge. I doubt any other team has had as hard a block of 4 consecutive games as us this year.

At the start of the season I thought we'd be on one win till Round 13. I don't know how many games we'll win now - but we are definitely playing better. Last season I was watching games from behind my hand like it was a horror movie!

Re: I think it is quite likely that we will not
I didn't think we would have four wins this early on so I am surprised especially with our missing players.
In saying that the long bombs have to stop and we need speed in the mids and people who hurt the acoreboard.
For me our backs are great considering we are missing our best players. Mids still poor with speed and delivery inside 50 is terrible
Forwards are still inaccurate. Good defensive pressure but need goal kickers not tacklers

Re: I think it is quite likely that we will not
I think it's possible we could only lose three or four more games for the year.
Collingwood this week will be tough, Geelong down there in Round 17 will be very tough.
Beyond that... Richmond will be a challenge but winnable, Adelaide over there is hard but we're due in Adelaide.
As for the rest, Port, Gold Coast, Brisbane, North, Bulldogs, Melbourne, Fremantle, Sydney and Carlton twice, all very winnable games. Nine or ten more wins is realistic, 13/14 wins = finals.
Don't forget the likes of Geary, Lonie, Carlisle and King may be back sooner than anticipated. I wouldn't hold on to hope of Steven or Hannebery getting on the park in 2019, but they also could be handy little bonuses in the second half of the season.
This may all seem very rose-coloured-glasses but it's a hell of a lot more likely than what else is being suggested.

Re: I think it is quite likely that we will not
I can see us winning another 6 for 10 at season end.
Improved on last year and a reasonable result given the depleted senior ranks thus far this season.
I cant see Hannebery adding any value this year and it would be huge ask for Carslile, Geary, Lonie, Paddy etc to have a big impact after serious injuries and games missed.

Saw king play live and he is Long way off. That is not a knock but he needs some meat on his bones and that will take some time. He glides across the ground hence the Winx moniker but got pushed a round a lot.
Geary and lonie will return but not sure about Dan or Carlisle or even Steven all for different reasons.
It will be interesting come year end to see how many wins will it take to keep Richo safe

Yeah I think we'll have a few negative wins this year, you know the ones where we lose but should have won and maybe sneek a few positive losses, the ones that we win but shouldnt have.

Agree
Hopefully we get back some of the injured guys and Stuv and Hannebery join the team after the bye
I see us winning 6 more games with Steven and Hannas, but maybe only 4 if both are out for the whole year
