So proud to be a sainter
I still can’t quite believe!!
My word what a win.
I fkn live the mongrel in this team. It’s a new found bit of anger, a will to win. The intensity is fkn awesome
Love this team. Love the passion and flair
Go saints!!
Ps Imagine if we’d lost to gcs - would’ve been a very different season...funny game football

The players' belief and trust in each other has been there all year, stood out like a neon sign today.

Re: So proud to be a sainter
It was a beautiful thing to behold. In the first part of the second quarter, Melbourne started to win the arm wrestle, and I feared our lads would be run over. However, this team will not lie down, and we grabbed the ascendancy - and from there until the end of the 3rd quarter played tough, hard, sublime footy.
Even late in the last, when the Dees kicked a few junk time goals, we did not let up, and pulled away again.
The game plan looked superb on the wide expanses of the G.
A fabulous team effort,

Re: So proud to be a sainter
Best third quarter we’ve played for 2 seasons by my reckoning.
An absolute sight to behold.
Gutted I wasn’t there.
So proud of their effort, their belief and their absolute love of playing the game for the club.
Fortius quo fidelis. We’re living it again.

Nine more wins from 17 games, is that possible?

Apollo 13 victory. Must be one of our happiest wins for a long, long time. It seems, ever since the highs of 2010 we were fighting against the slide and we barely had a pulse before the JLT! Brilliant Saints!! So happy!
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: So proud to be a sainter
The excitement amongst the players when we kicked key goals was genuine.
They were playing with passion.
And wasn't it mind blowing to see us playing with structure and execution!
The long bombs into the forward line plan was replaced with quick play-on movement to spot up a target.
And the defence held firm and repeatedly ran the ball out under pressure.
A dee-lightful game!

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Great thread. Some times you just have to enjoy being a supporter. Today was one of those days.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Watching the replay having gone to the Comedy Festival...but laughing more now!
WTF has happened to this side?!
Loving it....they are absolutely ravenous, hunting like a young pack if wolves.

Re: So proud to be a sainter
Great description, nails exactly how they played.
In terms of 3rd quarters, I said to some Melbourne mates at half time that the 3rd quarter is our worst, it is up to your boys what they do with it. Incredible effort, to me it showed our lads couldn't wait to get back amongst it after half time. Their belief in each other is intoxicating.

Very possible, looking at the end of our fixture. We should be expecting to play finals now, not just dreaming.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Sat 20 Apr 2019 10:39pmExcept....we don't play finals at the moment.CARNTHESAINTS wrote: ↑Sat 20 Apr 2019 9:11pm I LOVE the saints at the moment , the pressure and belief is AMAZING!
