I’ve got a bad feeling about this
Don’t get me wrong I’ve been pleased with what I’ve seen preseason and season proper, I’ve been quite positive going into every match
Something just doesn’t feel right about tomorrow
I hope I’m wrong but I fear a bad one

Fo the Hawks maybe
Good mental test for our group to back up after a tough road trip and a disappointing loss

Hopefully Mr 33% had them drilling goal kicking at training!

Re: I’ve got a bad feeling about this
Tony74 said Ross Lyin had outcoached AR.
Angry Ant has a huge amount of coaching nous,
but we've got some of his IP by virtue of Ratten.
Gonna be interesting.
My guess, it's either Hawks by >40 points (because we're inaccurate)
Or
a they win by under a goal.
Hope I'm wrong.

Re: I’ve got a bad feeling about this
I am always creeped out after small interstate ‘brave’ losses. The Adelaide hiding, 2014? at Marble Stadium following a narrow loss way out west, when we really lost our marbles. It’s funny how we get these rhythms, like we think it is inevitable because it fits some vague story of the past. Of course it is all BS, but still I’m sacred. That new Port player they have. I want Montagnards and Riewilt for just one game tomorrow, but guess what, I am suspecting that the tattooed one from a Sydney will blitz tomorrow. Seven second half goals from him and we get home! Sainters, come on!
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Eagles making Freo look very ordinary which may be showing where we are at.

Not watching. But WCE 6.3 to Freo 1.9!!!! Why did Freo not kick like that last week when that kicked 11.5 grrrrr.
Maybe Freo and making Freo look ordinary.
However WC are going to be a contender this year.

You might be right, but don't confuse the pessimism of a worn out saints supporter against objectivity. It's our lot in life I guess.Trev from the Bush wrote: ↑Sat 13 Apr 2019 10:23pm I am certain we will have a shocker tomorrow.

Harden up.
Seriously, harden up. Each and every performance so far this year has been streets ahead of the garbage they doled out last year.
This is definitely a winnable game.

Re: I’ve got a bad feeling about this
Yeah, Rossy Lyon got a hold of our Coaches at the start and in the first. He slowed down our movement out of defence and our forwards got sucked too far up the ground. No shame in getting outcoached by Lyon, he gave the Premiership Coach plenty of headaches yesterday without Fyfe.WellardSaint wrote: ↑Sat 13 Apr 2019 9:20pm Tony74 said Ross Lyin had outcoached AR.

Lyon's decision to tag Ross rather than Billings was interesting and a mistake. Perhaps a mistake enduced by Richo? I wondered why Billings spent the 1st quarter across half back, perhaps it was in anticipation of Lyon tagging him, which should have been obvious? If so shrewd work by Richo, as Billings got into the game a shifted to the wing, we took control of the game.
In the end our Coaches returned fire and we should have won. In the end it was down to the players.
Clarkson is another challenge, but I wouldn't say Clarkson has dominated Richo over the last few years.

Re: I’ve got a bad feeling about this
I would. We have only beaten Hawthorn once in ten years.
If you go into today's match confident I would say to counter that with a dose of realism. Even with our best side in we would be up against it today.
The fact that it is at home is a massive plus for us, but we haven't really played anybody yet this year, so what we are capable of against top four opposition is an unknown.
I think if we go in with the right attitude today we can match them, but not necessarily win.

Can I add this:
I was at the game, and sat just above the end of the 50m arc,
in the last qtr it was our forward 50.
I was devastated and upset at the congestion in our forward line;
wasn't obvious on TV (we also have lots of TV screens at Optus, and I checked those intermittently during the game)
it appeared there was under 10m gap between players, if we got the ball we were set upon instantly.
I feared we would struggle to get any time to execute.

perfect conditions, no wind to effect accuracy, sure footing,
this is the best scenario to bring our A-Game.
If we can find some accuracy, we will be a chance, but inaccuracy is our albatross, and it refuses to die.
