Acres
8 disposals!
So so disappointing
Yes people will say he should be in the midfield
I don’t care where he is, he should be trying to impose himself
He has size and ability but .....
His effort to not bodyline the ball in the 2 or 3 quarter was awful
He should be making it easy for our smaller players but .....

Re: Acres
Underdone, should have been playing with Sandy the past two weeks!
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

Sorry Bernard hit the wrong button but hes been underdone for about 3 years . I like the kid & I really want him to come good but he needs to stand up soon because potential doesn't cut it anymore .guitars4 wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 11:29pmBernard Shakey wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 10:58pm Underdone, should have been playing with Sandy the past two weeks!

Re: Acres
Acres was shithouse, along with Sinclair. Both are still pretty young in the big scheme of things but they are now at that prime age bracket where they should be becoming top footballers. They have the talent, just not the consistency which makes it hard for the selectors to pick them every week. They will both get there though and it's up to each individual to take their game up a notch.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Ted I agree 100% but I think you can put superman in there too.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 11:34pm Acres was shithouse, along with Sinclair. Negative. Superman was pretty good I reckon. 15 touches. He did some nice things. We will need his body and expierence against the Hawks next week. He will get better.

Re: Acres
Acres and McKenzie are both under-done but too good to leave out.
Its good experience. We are not going to win the flag this year so play them even if it costs us games until they are fit IMO.

All due respect Ted but most of those touches were fumbles & IMO only I think he has under performed so far I would prefer Ben Long but IMO onlytedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Sun 07 Apr 2019 11:57pm Negative. Re: Acres
Play him in the guts. I’d struggle to name many ‘classier’ players than him on our list. Has the potential to be an absolute gun. Please Mr 33%, give him the opportunity and let’s find out once and for all if he’s worth persisting with.
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Agree. Kent was very average yesterday. Fumbled every time.
How long is not in this team is laughable.

He should’ve played in the ruck for a bit, gaining from his experience last year over in PerthSemperFidelis wrote: ↑Mon 08 Apr 2019 8:16am Not his best game by a long shot, but felt like he was being played out of position.

Re: Acres
As you are aware, went up in the ruck yesterday far more than last year in Perth (which was, if you watch the replay from last year, about twice). Seems to be quite a few around Acres size doing a bit of rucking, Patrick Cripps, Fyfe, even Jack Reiwoldt. Seems like a growing trend. Perhaps they could use a term like "ruck/rover" for these type of players.saintspremiers wrote: ↑Mon 08 Apr 2019 8:45amHe should’ve played in the ruck for a bit, gaining from his experience last year over in PerthSemperFidelis wrote: ↑Mon 08 Apr 2019 8:16am Not his best game by a long shot, but felt like he was being played out of position.

Yes, it’s a sneaky way to play him in the guts without having to move Dunstan or Ross. I’d prefer he move Dunstan and give Blake a proper shot at an onball role, but it’s better than nothing I guess.
Having said that, Blake was disappointing yesterday and is not yet fulfilling his obvious talent. We need to persist, though. He’s come in a bit underdone apparently.

Re: Acres
For a guy with 8 touches, he was involved in a lot of our goals. I’m not sure if that’s enough to give him a pass mark though.

Re: Acres
A couple of games at Sandy where he will get 20-30 touches will do him wonders. Then bring him back in. They did it with Billings now look at him. He is probably in the AA squad at the moment.

Re: Acres
He didnt have a great pre season so send him back for a couple of weeks and give Young a run. Richo cant seem to find a position where he can settle, but backing up in the ruck is ridiculous. If he doesnt come good this year and show something consistently its time to trade him at years end.

Re: Acres
My thoughts on Acres
Pros: keeps his feet very well. Uses his height well at times. Is a decent set shot when he gets one. Is quick off the mark and evades tackles well for someone his size.
Cons: consistently kicks over the head of the intended target. Not smart at putting the ball into the best spot for the forward to run into.
Seriously lacks hardness and ferocity. That is something that you either have or you don’t.
Likes to play ‘bruise free’ football. Decision making is below par except on occasion.
Nice guy.
