Coach's Call.
From saints.com.
Blake Acres’ senior call-up:
“He had a slower lead-in to the really significant minutes than others, so he’s probably a week or two behind – that’s why he didn’t get selected – but he was really strong last week.
“He’s a big guy, Blake, he’s 193-194cm, massive runner; he gives us real flexibility, and so we think he’ll be able to play a few roles for us not just this week but during the year, and we need a bit more flexibility in our team and Blake certainly provides that.”
Officially he is listed as 191cm by the AFL. wouldn't surprise that he has grown a couple of centimeters since he joined as a teenager.
BJ did and his AFL states were always wrong, having never been altered.

Good reading. Alan answered many q's and the hysteria surrounding a couple of players with facts and common sense.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Kinda reminds me of another guy who coined a similar phrase
https://www.sbs.com.au/news/thefeed/sto ... ains-calls
On the subjuct of flexibility and team selection; what sort of flexibility does Lonie provide?

Re: Coach's Call.
Big Season for Blake this year IMO.
24 this year, I guess 60 games under his belt to date.
Big, strong body, all the attributes and skills to be an A grade AFL player.
Would probably have the most upside in skill and physical attributes in the club, has the package to be the saints best player.
To date is a C grade player who has shown a bit in glimpses and has teased a hell of a lot.
Would hate to see him leave as he'd probably become AA in 12 months.
It's time at his age and experience to grab the bull by the horns and become an A grade consistent AFL player.
In regard to Clark & Coffield I'm happy to see them play 10-15 games and learn the craft for the next two years before expectation hits. They are not at a strong club with great leadership and senior guns to show the way and teach them, they have to develop the hard way so give them time.

Proudly assuming the title of forum Oracle and serving as the inaugural Saintsational ‘weak as piss brigade’ President.

I hope he doesn't relief ruck as that's not a good position to be in coming back from a back injury.
Stick him in the guts and also go forward (like Dangerfield, Fyfe, etc).
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Coach's Call.
Coffield and Clark would be playing and further developed at teams like the hawks or Cats, maybe its because there leaders and senior players are better? Im not sure if Savage and Dunstan will get any better than what they are, these two kids are top 10 picks and should be in the team to develope to a higher level than Dunstan and Savage thats how you improve a Team to the next level.
