Sadly, we’re miles out in front already after Richo’s usual dribble on SEN yesterday confirming what supporters and the entire AFL industry knew about Henneberry’s body.
Go you red, black & white warriors

They may finish 8th or something, but like Geelong and Hawthorn they have too many good players, good structure and are well coached, to drop out of contention. They also develop their players properly and get good value out of their academy.

Being a laughing stock and dropping your position on the ladder two very different things. Swans sliding down the ladder after not missing the finals for the past decade or so hardly qualifies them to be a laughing stock.
A laughing stock is the saints right now. Paying massive money and placing on a contract for a lengthy period a player with dodgy injury history and not bothering to investigate the full extent of his injuries before placing him on the contract with minimal performance clauses.

Oh, so Brendon Boulton's Corporate waffle is better? What about Leon Cameron, Ken Hinkley & Goodwin. Churchillian Orators? I think not.
Then there's John 'Funnel all communications through Mark Neeld, or I'll get confused' Worsfold.
Allan Jeans was a man of few words.

Kind of hoping Melbourne goes off the rails a bit. Mainly because we seemed on somewhat even footing (or even better) than them as a developing side, until last year that is.

They looked a bit off the pace today. Port looked good. It looks like the early trend is to play multiple debutants in round 1.shrodes wrote: ↑Sat 23 Mar 2019 4:14pmLast time I checked there was 18 teamsListManager wrote: ↑Sat 23 Mar 2019 10:01am A. Collingwood.

Melbourne needs to be on that list.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Anyone of Carlton, Melbourne, Collingwood and Adelaide, judging from round one results so far.
Think I might be able to add the swannies and the doggies jumper to that list too.

I have heard Allan Jeans speak in the flesh and he was an extremely inspirational and powerful orator. He didn't speak loudly but he spoke forcefully.Linton Lodger wrote: ↑Sat 23 Mar 2019 4:00pmOh, so Brendon Boulton's Corporate waffle is better? What about Leon Cameron, Ken Hinkley & Goodwin. The excuse I heard the other morning on SEN was lame in my opinion.
However, I do have to say that the team's improved performances in the practice matches have given me some heart for the season. I certainly can't fault the players' endeavour in the two practice games and long may it continue.

is Slater's coaching in NRL tackling, making sure you hurt an opponent,
and the martial arts guy making em wrestle on the Portsea beach.
Let's hope we can do to Sydney n Crows, what they used to do to us. Revenge is sweet.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Funny how ppl respond differently to speeches. I too have heard Jeans speak live. He addressed our footy team back in the day. I found his talk to us contrived. Deliberate inflection on his voice. Raising his voice for no apparent reason. The message wasn't all that unique either. I left feeling somewhat disappointed, almost like I had heard a used car salesman talk to me.samuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 23 Mar 2019 11:06pmI have heard Allan Jeans speak in the flesh and he was an extremely inspirational and powerful orator. The Saints. By a country mile. I love this club, loved 'em since I first got to Melbourne, will love 'em till the day I die...... BUT, my love is in SPITE of their (ahem) "quirky" way of doing things.
