Is his career over?
How drastic is a broken hip in relation to getting back to where he was?

No idea but probably a minimum 12 months is my guess, and possibly may never heal properly and at risk of redoing fairly easily, but this is based on what I have seen in some family and friends (not all old but the majority was) but they weren't elite sportsmen either

And then there maybe be a natural shame of the incident and the press coverage covering, and not being able to exercise or play that may exacerbate the mental health issues as well which in turn may effect the recovery as well.

In other words no idea really, and it probably should be a low priority for him as well.

Hopefully Daw recovers mentally and uses his near death experience as a spokesman for those with issues sometime in the future.

Daw could help save many lives, provided he can learn how to save his own.

Fingers crossed. Whether or not Majak Daw will enjoy answering some cheesey Breakfast Show Host’s inane questions in ten years about how he fell and why, I know he will feel some empathy right now. Whether that is enough, let’s hope. Who knows, he might just decide, to move to Moorabbin and, with Jake, Webster and co. become part of the most impenetrable defense ever seen.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

And a broken pelvis, apparently? Haven't heard them use the term "shattered pelvis" as yet but if he's done that you'd think he's be finished.

Good article on the incident on The Mongrel Punt at the moment

I'll be farked as to how he survived. I can't fathom what drove him to jump. Surely his closest friends would know he is battling something very dark. It's difficult to hide these things. I just don't understand.

Just broke up with his girlfriend . Took Stillnox and Melatonine.

Guess that would just about do it for some.

In terms of playing again...

Daw’s major weapons include his strength in combination with his agility.

Both have taken a major hit and it’s doubtful he’s able to get back to that highest level of performance

With regards to this being stupid...
An emergency department in Vic will see at least 2 people everyday that have responded to relationship woes with alcohol/drugs and some form of self-harm attempt...
I guess my point is that this is an everyday problem

Not being a medical specialist, but having known elderly people that have had hip replacements, which is what he will need, I would say that he is probably unlikely to ever be the player he was again.
He may play again, but a hip replacement is an extremely major operation. It wasn't that long ago that people could die from complications arising from it.
He would be in a lot of pain now. Feel bad for the guy.

Party drug unfortunately...
Ppl mix it with alcohol and other things and it seems to either give them a buzz or in more extreme instances, some type of type trippy hallucinogenic experience.

On its own as a hypnotic (sleeping med), on the wards a lot of ppl experienced nightmares or vivid dreams when taking this.

Certainly not a med I’ve ever recommended.

Interesting thought though... stillknox and ETOH opens up the question a bit to that of deliberate suicide attempt vs suicide attempt with extremely impaired judgment,
Very different things that can often not matter with the outcome

How good was that film?

I bet we all wish to have lived that life for a day!

My brother went to a talk by the guy (post his days of fun) and said he was very quiet and boring.
