Re: Jade ready for midfield
Will definitely go alright in the engine room. He reminds me alot of Brent Harvey and he was an A grade mid that could kick some snags most weeks. Gresh is still young though and will only get better. Confirmed he wants to remain a Saint and the club is trying to sign him up long term.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Jade ready for midfield
Sounds good in theory but not sure if he has the tank yet. Might rotate in the midfield more as the year progresses but last thing we want is for him to try to hard and get soft tissue injuries

So he hasn’t signed yet.

Re: Jade ready for midfield
He’s a tricky one because as much as he’s exactly the type of mid we lack... I don’t want to lose him from the forward line.
He’s one of those players that can do things that others can’t and fans often think was impossible

Re: Jade ready for midfield
Small forwards is one thing. Maybe Lonie can develop into a useful or really good one. Potentially elite midfielders is another thing all together. IMO we can’t afford not to have him in the midfield.

But Hanners will show him how it’s down and how to score a multi year lucrative contract to boot.

Yep we certainly look lively with gresh & Clark in there... I'd love us to take Rankine, reckon those 3 would build an electric, goal kicking midfield.

That would be real nice, when was the last time we had a gun goal kicking midfielder.

Re: Jade ready for midfield
I hope he can get in a full pre season.. As he said, it would be his first.
So, he may not be full time mid as early as 2019 but will spend a lot more time there.
if we get Rankine to fill that forward role, it would be ideal IMO...
We need top sign him up on good coin fro a LONG time!

Re: Jade ready for midfield
Rankine is my preference as well. If they all came on as expected and Coffield progressed more, we might all of a sudden look dangerous through the middle

Re: Jade ready for midfield
We've already got a good core of high DPs in our team and you add no. 4 or, if we do a trade for 2 first rounders (which would be arguably a better outcome), then we have got some serious raw talent on the list.skeptic wrote: ↑Thu 08 Nov 2018 7:47pmRankine is my preference as well. Re: Jade ready for midfield
show me the money, it sings loud every time, smart move by any person, my prediction is he is looking to add a few zeros to his value in 2019 so enjoy the ride. My guess is he's ours for the keeping if we got the cash.

Yeah, okay, Richo will forsake his tried and trusted Armo, Ross, Steven and sometimes Dunstan for the new blood of Gresham, Clark, Rankine (or whoever). Yeah, right!!
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Jade ready for midfield
Totally agree he is the one player we have with a bit of X factor . He knows it's time to strike while the irons hot & we would fools if we don't get it done IMO

Re: Jade ready for midfield
Agree, I don't think he will be a top midfielder, has too many tricks when he plays there and the opposition are aware of them. Hasn't got the tank either. If he could improve his handball skills in traffic that would be a plus. Maybe pinch hit with him but a much better player around the goals where his tricks work against backmen.

Re: Jade ready for midfield
He will sign on again. Not concerned about this one.
Needs the tank. Really hope he can develop one.
