Re: Minchington signed by Hawks
Wish him well, he is a player I rated. Hawks, like me, would have been impressed by able to put in some little cameos such as his three goals in a row in a few minutes. Did it two or three times for us and his defensive skills would be an upside.

Bet they use him off half back. Will take him a half year to learn their system and impress.

Re: Minchington signed by Hawks
our club can"t really develop well.
We're like a married couple who build a new house, but can't or won't put in the effort to look after it.
When someone buys it, the new owners fix up the garden, tidy up flaking paint, fix any little issues,
then the family of the original owners (Saints fans)
drive past and are amazed at what it looks like now.
'Oh boy, we always knew it had potential!' is the comment.

A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: Minchington signed by Hawks
The boy can play but unfortunately injury & our inability to develop players has cost him his spot at the saints.Hawthorn is the best team at recruiting the type of player they need using it to it's full potential so I would not be surprised if he does ok at Hawthorn. IMO looking at there list I think he will struggle to get a regular game but who knows look at Brent Guerra played in 2 Premierships after we delisted him.

1. Disagree, he is not better than Lonie.
2. I'd rather have Langford than Michington, no idea what the Hawks are thinking but hey.

Hardly anyone wanted Minch on here, so don't complain he's now gone and got picked up. He was deemed another list clogger on here by many.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

That’s not true...tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Thu 01 Nov 2018 9:42pm Hardly anyone wanted Minch on here, so don't complain he's now gone and got picked up. He was deemed another list clogger on here by many.
Minch had a lot of fans here that were disappointed to see him go. To be honest I’d say the majority rated him but were frustrated not to see him spend more time in the middle and patience ran out due to his inability to stay on the park.

Re: Minchington signed by Hawks
Minch was never given a chance. Injuries certainly didn't help him but when you play on the ball in the reserves and knock up getting possessions and then come into the seniors and play forward pocket, what hope have you got? What is happening with the reserves? Why aren't they learning the same game plan and positions so they are ready to roll in the seniors like Hawthorn do?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

I didn’t see much of him other than YouTube..lol.. so I’m almost a troll I suppose, however, I loved what I’d saw and wondered what f we could redraft him.guitars4 wrote: ↑Thu 01 Nov 2018 10:16pmNo I think you're wrong there Ted I think there was a lot of love for the meat ball on this site IMOtedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Thu 01 Nov 2018 9:42pm Hardly anyone wanted Minch on here, so don't complain he's now gone and got picked up. The need for “change” needs change, we will find out whether he was a scapegoat but I understand he was still dropped uninjured since 2012, and people suggested he was inconsistent. So...
You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Re: Minchington signed by Hawks
Minch is way too good for VFL but inconsistent and injured at senior level.
Loved him as a Saint and wish him the best. Very happy if he dominates for the Hawks even against us.

f*** me, turn coat's!!!!!
The best way to deal with ex players is: remember what they did for 'our club' , not what they did for the other fuckers!!!!!
Meatball had he's chances at St.Kilda, didn't work out, all the best at the Hawks!!!!!
f****** sook, get a f****** life!!!!!
PS, didn't work out for someone I know really well at North, but he went alright at St.Kilda!!!!!!

Re: Minchington signed by Hawks
We can develop well like any other club. This is something we need to improve though and the off field appointments have addressed it.
Do people simply forget the side we put together mainly from drafting in the 2000's? That was A grade development, even with a shoddy and D grade setup at Moorabbin.

Re: Minchington signed by Hawks
Minch has the tools to be a very handy AFL player. He's in the midst of his physical prime and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a quality club like Hawthorn turn him into a regular senior player. He's taller, faster, stronger and a better kick than Lonie.
