Now Ted there is being optimistic & plain silly, you're probably like me & been a saints fan since birth so to categorically say it's a forgone conclusion is tempting fate. We all know too well what we are capable of & yes I think we can beat Gold Coast & probably will but never take anything for granted especially when you're a saints fan .

I am not confident about this game at all. If we draft another key forward then we still have the same midfield issues as last year. Gold coast will get at least one top 3 pick depending on trades with Adelaide or port and they may get lukosiis who will take a while to be good or Rankine who will play game one and at least another top 10 ie roozee or Smith.
Basically they are bad like us but may get some new players to drag them.over the line against us and yes I know they lost 2 of their best players
