St Kilda is no stranger to scheduling screwings. It had the AFL’s worst fixture in 2014, the worst in 2015, the 9th best in 2016, and the worst in 2017. This year, it was the worst again, and that was also the worst fixture of any team in five years.

They SHOULD be.
And they SHOULD be jumping up and down about the freekick imbalance we get in Perth which over the last decade is the worst in the competition.
SHOULD, SHOULD.
But they WON'T WON'T.
Because they are WEAK WEAK !

So it’s not our fault we can’t attract quality players and North and Essendon are already ahead of us as “destination clubs,” it’s the fixtures fault?

If we don't forcefully call injustices out then we will routinely be trampled all over in perpetuity.
Some of the questions we should be asking ...
Why was our double-up draw this year 2/2/1 instead of 1/2/2?
Why have we had a massive imbalance (over the last 5 years) of 8 more away games against teams at interstate (+Kardinia Park) venues than playing them at our home - including 3 this year?
Why do we get more 6 day breaks than the league average?
Why do we get banished to twilight zone time more than any other side?
Why do we have the worst free kick imbalance in Perth?
The fact that these issues are not averaging out over multiple seasons indicates clearly they are NOT random.
So why is there an agenda against us?

It's like wondering why WNBL players get paid less than NBA players or why Johnny Depp played a Native American in The Lone Ranger - it's because the AFL is an entertainment business. Its business model revolves around people consuming their product. Full stop.
That means bums on seats, and eyes on TV screens.
Don't blame the club. Blame the fact that Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton etc. have and always will have about 200,000 more supporters than we do.
No matter how much anyone 'jumps up and down', until the Saints put as much money into the AFL as the big clubs do, we will continue to be treated the way the we are. Because we just don't matter.
It just is what it is.
I honestly don't know why people get so huffy about it.
If you don't like it, you just need to find another hobby, or barrack for a different team. Cause it's never, ever going to change.

Sorry, I thought AFL was a "sport" not entertainment.
Perhaps top rated USA/China/Russian Olympic athletes should bi-pass heats/semis and go straight into their finals to maximise bums on seats and eyes on TV screens?

Might get one or two night games, but that's about it..On someone else's home deck. We would still travel to Perth Twice, Adelaide twice and Queensland twice, KP at least once and probably down to Tasmania also.
Plus most of our home games would be Sunday f****** twilight.
Almost all our games next year will be twilight games.

will be worst again next year with the trip to china. this year port got compensated very well with the draw after that game, gold coast not so much.
mind you, given it's a 'home' game that algorithmn may incorrectly assess it to our advantage.
