And we might as well offload Steven too as he doesn't want to stay in a side that is going nowhere fast.

I'm yet to see evidence that he doesn't want to stay. Besides, we need more mids - not less.

Re: Lonie, Bruce &the Filth!!!!!
You're probably not going to get a signed letter from Jack, but there have been a number of reports that indicate that he is not happy with our current situation, he wants to see some success and taking an 18 year old Key Forward with pick 4 this year will definitely protract our parlous state.
I don't blame him.

If true, shows the worth of Bruce over Paddy unfortunately. Much like the worth of Hickey over Longer, regardless of the fact Hickey wants out.

I will be absolutely filthy if we give up Josh Bruce. A really stupid move if it happens and would confirm to me that we have morons in charge

Re: Lonie, Bruce &the Filth!!!!!
there's nothing alarming in this.
The Filth wanted to know how Bruce keeps his long hair and man-bun so clean,
because all their fans with long hair have no idea about hygiene.
Lonie has a great set of teeth, so you fill in the blanks

Persactly.
Bruce's 'trend'? He's gone from competent, to a fish slapper.
Easy answer.

See, that's all you need to make it in the world, just have a crack, give great effort.
Forget about results, KPIs, output- we just need to see that you're trying hard,
and you're good

Re: Lonie, Bruce &the Filth!!!!!
Here we go again. Toss out the opportunity to get a possible elite mid and other options seem to be a priority. Haven't we done this enough? Get elites and do something that might match up with other clubs. While pressure s great as a start for team reform you have to be able to run and kick well to get scoreboard options and actually look dangerous down forward. Need quick and precise ball movement to do that, something that has eluded us for a decade or more. Goddard and Dal Santo were saviours in this regard.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Re: Lonie, Bruce &the Filth!!!!!
no, no, we don't need to draft top level mids - we just get them via trades and free agency. don't we? isn't that the plan? still?
bugger.

Lonie set to sign a new 2 year deal.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

Re: Lonie, Bruce &the Filth!!!!!
Lonie has committed to the saints for a further two years after that flog on fox said at the very end of last night's show, that he would sign on with carlton
From AFL.com.
"JACK Lonie has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at St Kilda until at least the end of 2020.
As reported by AFL.com.au earlier this week, the 22-year-old is now locked in as a Saint for the next two seasons after an impressive second half of 2018.
"The way Jack attacked his footy in those few weeks was impressive and a clear indicator of his personality and commitment to the club," Saints list manager James Gallagher said.
"His footy nous and ability to read the play and be creative are among some of the reasons we drafted him in the first place, and he really took his opportunities to display those talents at a critical time.
"Jack is a popular player among our group and an important part of the next generation of players to take our club forward."
AFL.com.au understands that Lonie was initially offered a one-year deal by the Saints.
He fielded interest from Collingwood and Carlton, even meeting with Pies coach Nathan Buckley, while seeking the security of a long-term deal.
But the Saints confirmed his new contract on Thursday, the day after the NAB AFL Trade Period.
He has been overseas with his teammates celebrating the wedding of captain Jarryn Geary in Portugal and is expected to arrive back in Australia in the coming days.
"I'm really excited to have signed on for a further two years," Lonie said in a statement.
"This season didn't turn out how we'd hoped, but there's no one more passionate about turning it around next year than us.
"I really believe in what we're doing here at the Saints and that this group is capable of some real success, and Iβm looking forward to being part of it."
Just as well that Jack is a bit more optimistic than you guys on here.
