If Shiel says no, then what? Lethlean and Gallagher must have a plan B.
Posters that have admitted they were wrong about Hanna's gastro and the club didn't create a cover story.

O'Shaughnessy is very highly respected in his field - stats and data. Has a huge background in this - and was very instrumental at Hawthorn. He is brought over by Ratten who obviously rates him highly from his time with the Hawks. Probably the best going around in his field. We would probably have struggled to get him - but for the fact that he is a St. Kilda supporter from a family of Sainters.saintsRrising wrote: ↑Mon 08 Oct 2018 6:01pmRatten = Excellent pick uptedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Mon 08 Oct 2018 5:07pm Pretty obvious.
Ratten
Lade
O'shaughnessy
Hannerbrey
Kent
More to come....
Lade = Probably ok, but does not have huge wraps
O'shaughnessy = Salesman hired from a bank. No experience at what he was hired for. Did once kick a footy for the Crows though.
Hannebery = Past star, but can he be a future star? As long as we do not pay more than a second rounder I am comfortable with it.
Kent = As a late pick is ok as has the speed and outside game we lack
We are coming from a long way back and need to outperform just to try and catch up a little.
Personally I feel we need a FA like Liberatore to catch up more. While Shiel would be good he would have to cost us dear trade wise and so becomes somewhat of a neutral acquisition though does address our lack of elite midfield talent which is important.
We still have our two most senior football positions filled by people that do not inspire confidence in our Director of Coaching and Senior Coach.
Overall the changes are not enough in comparison with what the best teams are achieving.
He knows what needs to be done in his area of expertise and is a great acquisition.

Has the club finalised all coaching appointments for 2019?

As far as I know if a club uses a future 1st it cannot use the 2nd as well.saintbob wrote: ↑Mon 08 Oct 2018 9:18pmI actually think we’re about to get the nod from Shiel, giving up next years 1st and 2nd rounders and either Hickey or Longer.tedtheodorelogan2018 wrote: ↑Mon 08 Oct 2018 9:10pm Instead of talking about me, how about the footy and trade period for a change? Very strange.
Expecting a Shiel announcement tomorrow. Fingers crossed guys.

FYI..I originally got the names of O'shaughnessy = Gallager mixed up. But after Kosi brought it to my attention, posted a new post.
To avoid confusion I have now also edited my original post.
