Maybe you're right on the recruitment of Goddard, but I think some have missed the point CURLY was trying to make

Our club right now has a poor record at some of the important factors that matter when it comes to building the foundations for a sustained succesful period on field. Recruit well and develop well and do everything you can to support your players to achieve on field success. The current Saints heirachy have failed in this regard.

Our recruitment team, our footy development and some of our coaching staff would not have been allowed to continue in their jobs (for as long as they have) if they were at Collingwood or one of the power clubs. They don't accept mediocrity and they value their players above every other employee.

One of the main reasons De Goey has blossomed this year is because the heirachy at Collingwood had instructed Pendlebury to take Jordan under his wing. They guide their on filed leaders to nurture an environment for team success and support the leadership on their current playing lists, rather than trying to import leaders.

Yep, all pointless. The reality is that since the 2010 GF they are contesting again, with a very real possibility of another premiership. We, on the other hand, are as far away from being contender as we were in the 80's. Unfortunately, we are poles apart in comparison, which is indicative of how badly our club has been run since 2009/2010.
