Those Moronic NAB Advertisements
I feel angry every time I see one of those ads with the kids dressed up as AFL stars. Now they even have them superimposed into real match footage. It pisses me off because it's a constant reminder of how our club has fallen into AFL irrelevance. They've been showing those ads for a few years now and I have not seen one kid dressed up as a St.Kilda player. Not even one!! WTF?!?!

I think the fact that we haven't had a single AA since 2014 says a lot.Sainternist wrote: ↑Mon 24 Sep 2018 11:02pm I feel angry every time I see one of those ads with the kids dressed up as AFL stars. There were quite a few underwhelming performers honoured in the Retirements segment in the Brownlow but not Sam Gilbert ( although Koby Stevens was in). Maybe it’s another example of our irrelevance, or maybe the poor , afterthought way it was handled made him miss the cut.

Yeah since Rooey has retired, we hardly have a recognisable player. I reckon if there was a survey asking the average footy fans who our captain was, most wouldn't know.

McCartin - Just need the little fat kid from hey dad to put a helmet on
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Might be due to the fact Sam is still trying to find another club??? Wasn't that the story?poatina wrote: ↑Mon 24 Sep 2018 11:41pm There were quite a few underwhelming performers honoured in the Retirements segment in the Brownlow but not Sam Gilbert ( although Koby Stevens was in). FWIW I will miss Gilbo. If he was a more reliable kick, there would have been a much greater story around him, and the Saints over the last 10 years
St. Kilda Football Club. Going strong, since 1960

The club has dropped the ball in so many ways over the last 5 years from the top down-on and off the field.. no wonder we are almost invisible to the public

I don't particularly like the use of children in advertising.
Apart from it being a bit exploitative, it feels like I'm being manipulated.
Those NAB adds, in particular, are a bit NQR.

Re: Those Moronic NAB Advertisements
Would have thought a mini-Stuv would be easy enough, with a mo and faux mullet.
Anyways, there's plenty of teams with no representation...I think we're getting a bit precious bemoaning not being in a commercial, in fact, I'm happy our brand isn't being associated with those blood sucking scumbags!

Re: Those Moronic NAB Advertisements
Precisely. We're just a complete basket of nothing. Zero.
This Administration & Board have systematically and successfully removed any semblance of brand identity and personality that our beloved club once had.
We stand for nothing and I despise how embarrassed I feel when Finnis, Summers, Geary and The Dribbler speak publicly. They only re-enforce what a boring, vanilla, beige, virtue-signaling bunch of apologists we've become.
Go you red, black & white warriors
