Well done Jack Steele
3rd in the Trevor Barker Medal.
Can't remember who recruited this Gem, I'd love to buy them a beer.
Love him. Leads by example.
Feel he's gonna be with us for a long time.
Reminds me of a previous No. 7 we had.

Amazing what happens when players find their calling and their position. Tagger who also win his own ball not bad for a second round draft pick, not bad, not bad at all

I must admit I didn't understand the fuss with him, but he did finish the year really well. It goes to show how highly the coaches rate players who tackle. Same goes for Geary.

Started the season slow when he was played on the wing & in the forward line. Got moved to the middle & starred. Only took 10 weeks to work it out.

Re: Well done Jack Steele
He said as much in his speech last night, it was something I noted as it wasn't necessary. I said to my wife and a few of those at our table last night that Steele really struck me as a future potential captain. Seems reasonably bright, thoughtful, and well spoken. Spoke several times and seemed to be a lot of off the cuff comments that were well considered. Impressive young bloke.

Re: Well done Jack Steele
Paraphrasing Mike Williamson...
jaxons predicted this. Con Gorazidis was talking him up back in July 2016!!
Been my favourite player since early last year. Great pick up. I wonder whether Trout was the main man who identified Jack's potential?

Just shows Con did make some good positive calls. Pity he was so negative (and abusive)

Impressive that Richo took less than three months to realise that a contested beast and ferocious tackler should play inside instead of as an outside runner/half forward flanker.Myron Gaines wrote: ↑Thu 20 Sep 2018 10:33am Started the season slow when he was played on the wing & in the forward line. Re: Well done Jack Steele
I know we're looking for every opportunity to blame Richo, but ...
Jack Steele hasn't had a proper preseason since he arrived - he'd been held back somewhat by that - and just developed naturally and organically himself.
He's his own leader, and doesn't need to be babied, or a coach to "develop" him or to play him in the right position, etc... he just needed a good run at it.
We've had a lot of players develop and reach great heights "under Richo" .... Ross, Steele, Roberton, Membrey among them.... and there'll be more - and most of it (the so-called development) has to do with the players themselves.

Just like Logan Austin.
I'm tipping both will really shine next year.
