Acres is absolutely ready to explode next year. It better be with us. He has a massive upside. Hannebery only has a downside

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
Low skill, not quick, not smart (as a footballer) and doesn't find the pill enough.
Not overly big either. Not great overhead.
Look, it's highly possible that like others on our list - our poor coaching and lack of leadership is stifling his development and holding him back.
However, I don't think I've ever really seen him.Do anything special, or play a genuinely good game.

Not overly big on your analysis of Blake either
You did cover your arse though which is a good out, just in case he keeps improving and makes a fool of you and others on here who have nfi

I’ll be shattered, Hannebery is done and Acres is about to explode.
Of course Sydney want Acres, he’s the ideal replacement for Kennedy and Longmire would play him where he should be played unlike Richo.

He's big, and he gets the pill...but he's predicable in what he does and dislikes any hard work IMO. I've never seen otherwise, so happy for him to prove me wrong one day, but he'll certainly get used to hard work under Longmire!rodgerfox wrote: ↑Fri 24 Aug 2018 3:04pmLow skill, not quick, not smart (as a footballer) and doesn't find the pill enough.

Might help Acres' development if he was given a chance to spend some decent time in the midfield.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

This post is ordinary. Acres was one of our best before he got injured this year. Massive upside.

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
I don't think it is at all relevant whether he was in our best. Our best was shocking, so it's not a high benchmark for a start.
But secondly, it's about getting players that could be good in a premiership team, not a bottom 4 team.
Acres is young, so he should/could improve. But to date, he's been incredibly average.
I'd be reluctant to trade him for Hannebury, but I wouldn't at all blink at trading him for a really good players in their peak.

I agree that Blake has been less than stellar. But - imagine if he'd have been gifted the 60+ games that Dunstan hasn't earned?rodgerfox wrote: ↑Fri 24 Aug 2018 5:49pmI don't think it is at all relevant whether he was in our best. Our best was shocking, so it's not a high benchmark for a start.

He's been incredibly poorly developed and used. He had bad groins pre-season yet we find ourselves watching him 2nd ruck in Perth against Freo ... whilst Marshall was on the frikkin ground! He's a big bodied mid whom is a loper and hence, looks slowish. But - he runs at different angles which makes him unpredictable. He's also a good mark forward and is a very good set shot at goal.
My only hope is that the new Assistant coaching group lets Alan play with some crayons in the corner whilst they develop a game plan around our list's actual capabilites (i.e. not a style they're unable to execute). Surely that game plan involves less Dunstan; more Acres.

No Foxxy it’s arse covering
He’s a big bodied mid for sure (that’s why they use him ruck) so just wrong on that aspect
Anyhoo we’ll all be hindsight experts when he tears it up for swans

I'm fairly certain that you know as well as anyone, that I don't care much for what other posters think of me.Teflon wrote: ↑Fri 24 Aug 2018 9:11pmNo Foxxy it’s arse covering

I love talking footy, and talking sport.
Whether I'm right or wrong, or liked or not is very, very low on my list of priorities.

I have.
Admittedly against Williamstown.
Ever since then I have been a big supporter.
He plays a bit like a giraffe whilst physically developing. Unlike you I think he has real skill, smarts, finds the ball and takes a good grab. Against he does the odd hatchet disposal. A 22 year old up to 22 possessions per game (not midfield) despite injuries is a player IMO.

Back to Hannebery. I used to think he was terrific but I'm watching the Swans/Hawks game now and I can't see he offers us anything Armo doesn't to be honest.

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
Pretty easy call after he gets clipped and bangs his knee again. I would wait for any medical before making a definitive call on him.

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
Acres will be the best player (currently on our list) at our club in a few years. Injury and consistently being played out of position this year has hampered him. Why he doesn’t spend a majority of his time in the middle instead of forward is baffling.
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
Agree with the posts that Hannebery only has downside.
He is a tough warrior as we saw again tonight, but at some stage that will catch up with him - probably long before the 5 year contract finishes, leaving us paying top rates for a boiled spud.

Re: 5 years Dan Hannebery?
Well those who are supporting Richardson as the coach going forward need to think again if he keeps playing Acres out of position apparently and of course not giving other players games. A trade may be on the cards for Hannebery but it would be a careless move. If the general plebs around the traps are aware of hannebery's shortcomings , surely that spud Lethlean is.
