I'm sure how this is going to pan out...will be interesting to see if the will of the members is totally opposed to the will of the club.
If Richo coaching in 2019 means Clarkson comes to the club at 2020 and if him going now means we don't get Clarkon (or Horse... whoever this messiah is supposed to be) then I'd vote to keep him another year.

Really? So you guys think that the membership would be happy for him to continue? Because I don't know one Saints supporter, and I know plenty who don't post on internet forums, who would be happy with him coaching beyond 2018, regardless of whether he had the worlds best assistant coaches around him.

It's a simple poll peoples..don't complicate it , if it's too vague or daunting for you simply don't get involved.
PS: The results so far are overwhelming as I thought they would be and a litmus test for the thoughts of those outside of SS.
The club would be absolutely bereft if it didn't have an inkling this would be the case yet belligerently stumbles forward, this a real concern. There will be those that will maintain "what the hell do we know and the club knows better" fair enough, but so many can be wrong and so few right ?

Re: POLL... RICHO
Where does the post say that option is favoured? It is merely saying that the Poll should include another option to cover all eventualities - imo the most likely eventuality is Richo stays into 2019 with new assistants, and performance reviewed during the year. They may even be lining up someone appointed as assistant to succeed him. That option is not given in the Poll.Moods wrote: ↑Mon 13 Aug 2018 7:33amReally? In any event, it is obvious most SS posters want him gone asap, so....... he stays.

Re: POLL... RICHO
I reckon stay the course - stick with Richo and his minimum wage - and allocate money to where it will make a real differerence and put us back on the map - and that is RECRUITING.
Get/poach the best recruiters going around - with the extra $500k/annum Richo will be generously tipping in by his selfless salary sacrifice.

Re: POLL... RICHO
Can't speak on b/h of Takeaway but from my perspective - I'd be happy to ENDURE Richo (i.e. I don't want him but I understand there are reasons as to why we might have to keep him - such as, (1) can't afford the $ to pay him out; (2) can't afford the bad optics of sacking another coach; (3) the new Assistants are effectively new de-facto Senior Coaches and Richo becomes the man managing soothsayer that just sits on the bench) if keeping him for 2019 means we get a good coach in 2020 (or one of the Assistants steps-up).Moods wrote: ↑Mon 13 Aug 2018 7:33amReally? Make no mistake - I don't want him now but our CEO and Board have hung that noose around our necks. And I agree that no St Kilda supporter (rusted on member or casual fan) would choose to stick with this path now or in 2019 if he'd not been extended 10 months ago.

Re: POLL... RICHO
I agree.
There's no point turfing him if there is no better option at this time.
If they have a planned target to replace Richo in 2020 based on our performance in 2019 then I'd vote for that.

Re: POLL... RICHO
Has to go,has had 5 years & has the 3rd worst coaching record for someone that has coached over 100 games ever but more than those stats there isn’t one young player apart from perhaps Ross that has been developed to their potential, good bloke but his coaching just makes me sad for our once great club!

Re: POLL... RICHO
I could live with that scenario Saintmatt. Lethlean has stated that the coaching structure will probably be changed, so it will be interesting to see what occurs. I hope they are able to get some decent assistants, ie Ratten or the like, who may be able to take over as match day coach at some stage depending on results, or as you say line up a credentialed coach for 2020. For those on here who say they will not be able to endure Richo again in 2019, to partially alleviate the situation, they could appoint Gordon Ramsay to front the post match news conference - that would remove the "pleasing", "positive", and "strong" comments that apparently are not popular, and lead to more entertainment for those that look forward to the press conference just as much as the match.Saintmatt wrote: ↑Mon 13 Aug 2018 2:28pmCan't speak on b/h of Takeaway but from my perspective - I'd be happy to ENDURE Richo (i.e. Re: POLL... RICHO
As I tell the kids... I want does always get
We are stuck with him. Tigers and Pies wanted out of their coach, refreshed their assist coaches and it has worked. With the Saints financial position they have to try that model.
Hopefully they do a big clear out. Head for the IQ and leave the EQ for Richo. With some tactical nous, someone to teach skills and goal kickin and someone to mentor leadership though the entire club things will improve (well it has to improve).
