oh I forgot about Lonie.
Why do we need to rush Freeman when we have such quality key players.

We suck and truly have no idea.
In 1968, I came out from England and moved to East Bentleigh. I consequently ended up supporting St Kilda. If only we had moved to Essendon.

Has the Sandringham Coach provided his commentary on the St Kilda listed players who represented Sandringham last weekend?

Re: No debut for Freeman this week!!!
No, I don't work for the club, but unlike most on this site (you included), who like to rant and rave and gnash their teeth without even seeing Freeman play, I have watched Freeman play in almost every game he has suited up for and, as I have stated on here over and over, although he gets the ball a lot in close, he does not provide any outside run and has not shown any break away speed, he is still not confident in acceleration and has not developed any depth in his kicking.saintspremiers wrote: ↑Tue 24 Jul 2018 7:36amDo you work for the club?BringBackMadDog wrote: ↑Mon 23 Jul 2018 11:34pmYep because you know more than the coaching panel, doctors, physios and everyone else that would go into making the decision.Jacks Back wrote: ↑Mon 23 Jul 2018 11:27pm Mr Delusional needs to pick Freeman FFS. You’re the biggest apologist on this site!
Why back our coach?
He’s had 5 years to show his stuff and he’s showed sweet FA.
He’s in love with Mav and sometimes Lonie, plays Joyce who clearly is nowhere near it and persisted with Longer way way too long (not that Hickey is a messiah).

Re: No debut for Freeman this week!!!
Was Ben Long ripping it up in the reserves before he was given his chance? Did Hunter Clarke excel in his first couple of VFL matches before being selected in the seniors? Why should Freeman just be considered as an outside runner? Is his inside work good enough to replace one of our current inside mids? Is his endurance good enough?
We aren't playing finals so why not try him out in the middle. When you take into consideration all the problems that Freeman has had with his hammies, perhaps the footy development coaches should open their minds and experiment with this bloke and see what else he is good at - apart from his burst speed and acceleration
After bringing him into the Saints list and investing all this time in him, don't you think the supporters and members deserve to be able to see him in at least 1 AFL game? I think the fans deserve to have a look at this kid.

Re: No debut for Freeman this week!!!
I completely agree - Does everyone seem to think that in the VFL you don't go full tilt?!? Trust me, you dorodgerfox wrote: ↑Tue 24 Jul 2018 7:51amparkeysainter wrote: ↑Mon 23 Jul 2018 11:50pmNah. You two blokes have no idea!takeaway wrote: ↑Mon 23 Jul 2018 11:38pmExactly. When he does debut, he will want to be able to go at full tilt, which I'm not sure he has as yet at Sandy. Be terrible if he goes hard to early, and gets injured - that would be it. I'm backing those at the club that know his status far better than anyone on here.BringBackMadDog wrote: ↑Mon 23 Jul 2018 11:34pmYep because you know more than the coaching panel, doctors, physios and everyone else that would go into making the decision.Jacks Back wrote: ↑Mon 23 Jul 2018 11:27pm Mr Delusional needs to pick Freeman FFS. Door 1: Trust some bloke off SS.net
or
Door 2: Trust the coaches, medicos, physios and selectors that actually work at the club every day as paid professionals
Hmmm.....hard door choice.
What do the medicos and physios have to do with it?
It's been publicly stated several times that his non-selection is not a physical thing.
This has NOTHING to do with his physical well being - this is yet another demonstration of inept coaching and selection, where guys like Newnes and Weller seem to be meeting Richos 'KPIs' by being absolutely crap.
I've lost faith in the coach entirely...time to go

Scollop, in answer to your questions
Was Ben Long ripping it up in the reserves before he was given his chance?
*first chance no, second chance yes
Did Hunter Clarke excel in his first couple of VFL matches before being selected in the seniors?
*No but he showed a bit plus he is the future of the club so needed games pumped into him, same with Coffield who is benefiting from playing at Sandy now and getting his body right for AFL.
Why should Freeman just be considered as an outside runner?
*he isn't, Watch a sandy game and you will see what I mean
Is his inside work good enough to replace one of our current inside mids?
*maybe but it is a line ball call
Is his endurance good enough?
*probably but that is not the concern
We aren't playing finals so why not try him out in the middle. When you take into consideration all the problems that Freeman has had with his hammies, perhaps the footy development coaches should open their minds and experiment with this bloke and see what else he is good at - apart from his burst speed and acceleration
*He has lost or no longer uses his speed and that is the problem. It may be a mental thing now or he is either worried about injuring his hammys again or he has lost pace.
After bringing him into the Saints list and investing all this time in him, don't you think the supporters and members deserve to be able to see him in at least 1 AFL game? I think the fans deserve to have a look at this kid.
*We will but not this week as it is interstate. The club wants the romance and the fairytale for P.R. purposes so it will be in a home game that is potentially winnable so Doggies game

I was born in Oz went to England for a couple of years but was back in Oz living in Bentleigh in time to see that premiership in 1966.
I fear that I will have to live to 114 years old to see our boys win another a century later.

Haven't seen such angst since Tommy Walsh!
Maybe after 5 years in the system (and numerous injuries) the bloke simply isn't up to it.

Re: No debut for Freeman this week!!!
I was a Hawks supporter as a young kid in the '60s, but my dad knew one of the people on the board or whatever at St Kilda, and Big Carl was the star player at the time, so I started following the Saints! I would have been enjoying quite a few premierships had I stayed a Hawk supporter!ace wrote: ↑Fri 27 Jul 2018 12:26amI was born in Oz went to England for a couple of years but was back in Oz living in Bentleigh in time to see that premiership in 1966.

I remember listening to the Saints win the flag in '66 on the radio- I feel ancient (I am), and it is ridiculous that the club has not followed up with another flag in all that time- been to every losing GF since then. Other than that I would like to see Freeman get a game!

Re: No debut for Freeman this week!!!
I will be a bit disgruntled if he doesn't get a game this year, especially being as disappointing as we've been this season.
And I'll be doubly disgruntled if he doesn't play this season and then gets another contract. That would be sheer madness.
At the end of this season, I would say that there will be a mass exodus of players coming out of contract. Big turnover on and off the field at season's end, i'm tipping.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.
