Changes against Port Adelaide
Nathan Brown's probably injured, reckon he hobbled off a couple of weeks ago too.
Do we bring in Gilbert, Logan Austin or possibly Josh Bruce and play him back?
Maverick Weller has been struggling and not bothering the score board. Any idea when Blake Acres is due back? I'd rather see kids like Coffield and Phillips get a chance.

Re: Changes against Port Adelaide
Brown and Longer definite outs, bring in Hickey and Austin/Goddard.
If fit, Webster in for maybe Joyce or McKenzie.
Bruce would be nice but not sure for who.
And when they’re fit, will have to find nd room for Acres and Long.

"He confirmed defender Nathan Brown had done his hamstring during the game, but hinted Sam Gilbert and Hugh Goddard could be options to come in. He said Jimmy Webster would also be in the mix for next round."

Hoping Acres is ready, he can take Weller's place.
Webster comes back in at Joyce's expense if he's fit.
I think Austin is probably ahead of Goddard for Brown's spot, but Bruce is the wildcard here.

IN:. Hickey, Marshall, Goddard.
OUT: Longer, Sinclair, Brown
Port are very tall. Sinclair was rubbish. 30 disposals at 37% is not good enough nearly lost us the game.

Sinclair??? Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!! Got votes from almost every expert on every footy show. He was bloody fantastic, ran his guts out and BTW he got 30 possessions at 66.7% efficiency not 37%

Re: Changes against Port Adelaide
A ruck/defender type would be handy, the versatility of replacing Brown and having an option for Ryder.
Webster will be an automatic in if fit, so Joyce goes out. Steele might get a holiday so there's another spot up for grabs.

"Sinclair amassed a career-high 30 disposals and was involved in nine scoring passages, St Kilda's pace leaving Melbourne flat-footed."

Re: Changes against Port Adelaide
Austin in for Brown - Austin had been playing well prior to getting dropped and surely would have a fair bit of intel and experience as to how Port's forwards and defence for that matter, stack up.
Hickey in for Longer - I dind't think Billy was bad yesterday but Hickey would seem a better fit to play on Ryder than Billy.
Webster would be a tough one to squeeze in but if he's 100 percent fit then I think Joyce would be the unlucky one to make way.

Re: Changes against Port Adelaide
To say that Longer had his colours lowered yesterday is an understatement. Gawn gave him an absolute bath!
Hickey coming in would normally be a must for mine, but I somehow think that Longer will get at least one more week, purely for playing in a winning team. Hickey’s also has a fair crack, done okay but hasn’t quite made himself a lock for the number 1 ruck, so I think Richo is keen to give Longer a chance to prove that he can do better. From what I’ve seen so far, can’t see it happening.
Agreed also on Brown and his potential replacements. I think they will opt for Austin. Could Bruce come in as a defender?

Re: Changes against Port Adelaide
If you saw Longer chase AR after the game to get a hand shake from the coach - you would have to think he will not be getting dropped this week - he looked very desperate to get in the coaches faceSydneySainter wrote: ↑Mon 02 Jul 2018 5:51pm To say that Longer had his colours lowered yesterday is an understatement. Ryder has not been quite "right" this year - he had a quiet game last week against a Kruezer-less carlton and has not been hitting the scoreboard. If Longer is to get a scalp this year then a port game is a must.
Webster in if fit - but I would like to keep the irishman in for another week instead of elevating Gilbert
Its not about "tanking" vs winning as a recent inane thread suggests - its all about seeing young guys that perform well in the twos getting a crack so we can see IF they will make it under the increased pressure of the AFL
Heres a hint people - most of ports goals come from on-ballers
Its all about 2019...
