We didn't do too good in the AFL Fantasy points.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Thu 14 Jun 2018 7:32pm Tough call on Hickey.
He isn't the reason we have only won one game.
No-one got 100 points or over.
Our highest was a guy called Tom Hickey 97 points.
But Callum Sinclair got 110 points.
Hickey 8 kicks, 3 handballs, 1 mark, 30 hitouts, 1 free for, 8 tackles, 1 behind.
I think Hickey's agent would already be shopping him around.
He is entitled to be completed pissed.
Whipping boy for our useless midfielders who could not get a clearance.
Jack Steven 7 kicks, 6 handballs, 49 fantasy points.
Handballing to each other in close until the opposition get possession and clear the ball away.
Longer won't touch the ball half as often.

This team is the team you pick if you have been told this is your last game as coach unless you win.
Unfortunately turning to your favourites to save your job may be just the cause of losing your job.
Gold Coast youngsters will come out full of enthusiasm believing they can win.
Our guys will just be playing another game.

Re: Team v Gold Coast
Do we know who is on the selection panel. I imagine Richo would be dominated by the views of the other member(s) so it would be interesting, Sexton for instance?. Obviously Weller has a contact where he doesn't get paid but must be selected for 20 games and any where his brother is in the opposition. Otherwise his selection can only mean they are using darts on the list posted in the corridor board and Coffield and Phillips were bullseye and triple 20, Richo could hit those numbers in a fit.

Billy Longer will give 5 handballs to players within 2 metres, get one kick from a chaos ball that lands on his chest, will have no scores, no score assists. He will take no contested marks. He'll get some hit outs, though. He'll be, as Richo says, "Strong at the contest". Trouble is, the only contest he gets to is the ruck contest

Same thing happened a while back. Hickey had some tough opponents and then Longer comes in against easier opponents and teams.
Richo's decisions defies any logic.

Re: Team v Gold Coast
If Armo plays as a mid I can understand the selection.
If he plays as a forward again, then no.
With Billings please Richo play him as wing or hb...and not as a small forward. Billings sets up play beautifully and if we play him there his confidence will build.

Re: Team v Gold Coast
This is tanking plain and simple.
Getting a game or two into Longer in the vain or perhaps plain misguided thought that he might generate some currency come the trade period. Same goes for Weller.
I didn't think Phillips compared too poorly last week when compared to the rest of the list.. I mean, think about that for a moment.
I am hoping that is the last we see of Lonie. Thank you for your service, even for 2018 which was just plain above and beyond.
The one that truly irks me is Brown.
Suns by 25 and TWO weeks of torture as the club gets torn apart externally, and internally.
Oh and Billings will be played deep forward. Wont see the ball and will have a howler. Press will be all over him.

Re: Team v Gold Coast
Who is Armitage going to beat? Gifted a game against possibly the weakest side in the competition and the same for Longer. Couple of the young blokes had to be rested and that's fair enough. Glad they got rid of Lonie, will never be a 100 game player for any AFL club but will make a damn fine vice captain in the magoos. If this is all we have with only Acres (no star) to come in then OMG saints in massive trouble. My solution is to relocate to Tasmania otherwise a merger is on the way.

Re: Team v Gold Coast
I would much prefer our ruckman handballing it to blokes that can kick. I watched the VFL last week what a treat it was to see blokes giving it off to players like Billings that can kick.cwrcyn wrote: ↑Fri 15 Jun 2018 6:04am Billy Longer will give 5 handballs to players within 2 metres, get one kick from a chaos ball that lands on his chest, will have no scores, no score assists. 5 players under 10 games last week
Phillips will become a good player but from my spot on the wing looked tentative at times, which did not look good

Don’t hate the changes.
Shows we’re not overreacting and doing desperate things. If Richo’s mantra is
Arno had to play after 40-odd against a tag.
Hickey has to get rid of the brain fade moments - the uncontested mark on the goal line a few weeks back, and going to the bench last week, it shows a lack of intensity and concentration.
Coffield and Phillips are probably sore. There’s no doubt thier output has been reduced in recent week, I reckon Rice is not far behind either. Give them a proper break over the bye round

it is the perfect game for him to come back in - there will be plenty of experience around him at stoppages this week against the Suns
Both rucks are tap winners but pretty useless around the ground - so it will be interesting to see who actually goes forward first
Witt is an example of what happens to a player who falls out of favour with coach (Buckley)
