I'm not sure that he coaches individuals, but it can't hurt to ask!
Thommo wants Clarkson.

Re: Thommo wants Clarkson.
We need to throw everything at Clarko to get him over to the Saints. He is a brilliant coach and he lives in Bayside as well, not too far from Linton St. Surely he needs a new challenge after all these years at the Hawks and what bigger challenge than to coach the Mighty Sainters

Re: Thommo wants Clarkson.
The VFL/AFL is littered with so called "great" coaches who went elsewhere and did sweet FA and others who filled in at good clubs (Bolton, Joyce) and then did nothing elsewhere.
Its the team, not the coach. The team has to be on the up. A good coach can't turn a basket case around (look at Melbourne and Barassi).

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Thommo wants Clarkson.
I floated the idea of GT as president in another thread. Didn’t get much traction. I did speak recently to someone who worked closely with GT at the Saints, and posed the same question, I was told that whilst my idea had merit, GT would never take the position.

He might be open to accepting a position on the board though.thejiggingsaint wrote: ↑Wed 13 Jun 2018 4:59pmI floated the idea of GT as president in another thread. Didn’t get much traction. Re: Thommo wants Clarkson.
More likely Clarko and Kennett have a great big disagreement and Kennett ends up sacking him. That would be a freakin' sweet scenario for us there.

Re: Thommo wants Clarkson.
At the risk of sounding silly, I think Clarkson was/is someone who arrived at an organisation (Hawthorn) that had genuine plans in place for success (rather than platitudes and spin) and his development as a coach coincided with the development of players like Roughead, Hodge, Mitchell, Rioli, and others. He also had a very savvy recruitment staff. To think that Clarkson could simply come into our (ahem) "organisation" ( ) and go anywhere within a country mile of replicating the "Hawthorn experience" is beyond delusional. (and thats coming form a Blue Sky Miner )
BESIDES, Clarkson has WAAAAAY too much common sense and intelligence to entertain coaching at St Kilda.

Re: Thommo wants Clarkson.
I was just thinking of this and actually think that this would be a great idea. Why? Well remember 18 years ago when we were a rabble under Watson, well with some encouragement we went and got Malcolm Blight.
While Blight himself ended up a bit of a disaster, the fact that because of him we were able to secure Fraser, Hammill and Brett Voss wasn't.
If we had gone with Thomas we probably wouldn't have got those guys.
Clarkson would help to attract those free agents and out of contract players.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.
