Re: Hickey dominated Nic Nat
Here's how I read the situation:
Almost every game Hickey has played this year has been better than any game Billy Longer has played in his entire career.
The gulf between these two players is enormous and if Billy ever overtakes Tom again as our no.1 ruck then I will be completely shocked.
If we can get a second round pick for Billy then we should jump at it and wish him all the best. One of the more useless players I've ever seen in a Saints jumper.
As for Tom Hickey, the guy is getting better with every game and could still potentially be one of the best rucks in the comp.

I see where Witts has had 54 hitouts v 18 between 2 GWS players
Leading Gold Coast to an easy win
The online footy app has the scores in that Gold Coast v GWS the wrong way around

Nothing new there, our ruckman apparently dominated against them too, but we didn't win!!!!!To the top wrote: ↑Sat 09 Jun 2018 7:52pm I see where Witts has had 54 hitouts v 18 between 2 GWS players

I thought Hickey was terrible tonight and absolutely smashed by Sinclair.
Need to play Longer ASAP. Team is going no where with Hickey in the side.

I disagree. 30 hitouts and 11 disposals to Sinclair's 29 hitouts and 14 disposals. Thought Hickey was more than serviceable.

If Longer was in the ruck last night, Sinclair would have got 60 hitouts and 6 goals

Re: Hickey dominated Nic Nat
Yet despite the game being over in the first qtr, we still had more 6 more inside 50s than the Swans at full-time, but we were still beaten by 12 goals. The rot stems much deeper than the ruck.stonecold wrote: ↑Sun 10 Jun 2018 12:20pmThe game was over at qtr time and Sinclair was BOG at that stage, the rest is irrelevant, too late when the game is done and dusted!!!!!SydneySainter wrote: ↑Sun 10 Jun 2018 12:15pmI disagree. 30 hitouts and 11 disposals to Sinclair's 29 hitouts and 14 disposals. Re: Hickey dominated Nic Nat
That's f****** rubbish!!!!! Sinclair enjoyed the bruise-free footy Hickey plays, Longer wouldn't have allowed that, as I've said, Hickey is incapable of defending and providing any physical presence!!!!!
Billy will be back before you know it, Hickey is lucky Blight is not coach!!!!!
Each to their own, however when the game was there to be won, Sinclair was the catalyst, make whatever excuses you like, that's a fact!!!!!

Re: Hickey dominated Nic Nat
IF we win this week it will have nothing to do with the ruckman, it would be because we’re playing the only other team in the comp currently as hopeless as we are!!stonecold wrote: ↑Mon 11 Jun 2018 9:35pmHow'd he go when the game was up for grabs(1st qtr), I'll tell ya, Sinclair was BOG at qtr time!!!!!The_Dud wrote: ↑Mon 11 Jun 2018 8:53pmMost tackles on the ground, pretty good for a bloke with no physical presence!stonecold wrote: ↑Sun 10 Jun 2018 12:43pmThat's f****** rubbish!!!!! Absolutely laughable. Sinclair was one of their best.

Yep, Sinclair had 3 goals to Hickey’s behind. Hickey is poor defensively when his opponent goes forward, as is Longer.Spinner wrote: ↑Mon 11 Jun 2018 11:42pmSydneySainter wrote: ↑Sun 10 Jun 2018 12:15pmI disagree. 30 hitouts and 11 disposals to Sinclair's 29 hitouts and 14 disposals. Yeah he was good. Sinclair is the very model of the modern ruckman.
But here's a question - which Saint actually won their position?

I think the coach was pointing the finger at every player in the midfield, and further than that on the ground. We had 22 players and none of them stood up in the first quarter. Singling our Hickey is over the top, you could single out any of the other 21 players as well.stonecold wrote: ↑Mon 11 Jun 2018 11:14pmIf Hickey plays, we won't win, we never do!!!!!The_Dud wrote: ↑Mon 11 Jun 2018 11:01pmIF we win this week it will have nothing to do with the ruckman, it would be because we’re playing the only other team in the comp currently as hopeless as we are!!stonecold wrote: ↑Mon 11 Jun 2018 9:35pmHow'd he go when the game was up for grabs(1st qtr), I'll tell ya, Sinclair was BOG at qtr time!!!!!The_Dud wrote: ↑Mon 11 Jun 2018 8:53pmMost tackles on the ground, pretty good for a bloke with no physical presence!stonecold wrote: ↑Sun 10 Jun 2018 12:43pmThat's f****** rubbish!!!!! Re: Hickey dominated Nic Nat
I never contradicted myself. While Hickey was beaten by Sinclair, I still think he was more than serviceable. Does being more serviceable mean by definition you need to "win" your position? If that's the way you see it, fair enough, but it's not the way I see it.Spinner wrote: ↑Tue 12 Jun 2018 1:48amSydneySainter wrote: ↑Tue 12 Jun 2018 12:35amYep, Sinclair had 3 goals to Hickey’s behind. As for my so-called cherry picking stats, what stats have I missed that supports your so-called honest argument that Hickey was "absolutely smashed". As far as the stats are concerned, head to head, their wasn't much separating Hickey and Sinclair, except for his 3 goals.
Take a chill pill!

Hard to have any confidence in anything happening with the club ( selection no different )!!!!!
Not interested in wagering anything on who gets selected, been picking the wrong team all year, thus our results!!!!!
