Dangerfield v McEvoy put to rest
11 years later on and I'm still seething from this decision. We took McEvoy with pick 9 in the 2007 draft when Dangerfield was still available and went at pick 10 to Adelaide.
The Saints are a shambles and can't recruit. Why oh why did we do it. I'm burning the membership! I want regime change from the top down to the boot studder! Whoever was responsible should be sacked!

Exactly. Its quite funny because I know opposition fans spewing they didn't take some of our players across the years when they could have.longtimesaint wrote: ↑Sun 27 May 2018 10:13pmHindsight is a wonderful thing!parkeysainter wrote: ↑Sun 27 May 2018 10:08pm 11 years later on and I'm still seething from this decision. The difference is that I don’t start childish and self centred thread and it proves SFA.
And Bernie makes more sense than you but that ain’t hard.

Don't forget we took Elijah Connors in the 70's a couple of picks before Adelaide usurped us taking Tex Walker.
I recall how upset we were as we were set to take Tex with #76 and Adelaide took him at #75.

Don't like it, don't post on the thread. Even Bernie would figure that out being dead as a doorknob.SaintPav wrote: ↑Sun 27 May 2018 10:25pmThe difference is that I don’t start childish and self centred thread and it proves SFA.

o k lets play out this fantasy draft game furtherparkeysainter wrote: ↑Sun 27 May 2018 10:57pm Don't like it, don't post on the thread. Even Bernie would figure that out being dead as a doorknob.
We draft him to stkilda - didnt show his talent until winning the rising star in 2009 but he has a few injury concerns that year (knee)
His development well and truly stalls under RL, lack of game time and the looming Saints decline sees him seek transfer to his beloved Port in 2011 ( or second choice crows)
game over.

Or worse still...
His development well and truly stalls under RL, lack of game time and the looming Saints decline sees him seek a transfer back home to his beloved Moggs Creek to join the Geelong FC and the Cats win another 2 flags in 2014/2015
Moral to the story; Recruit midfielders

Re: Dangerfield v McEvoy put to rest
That decision in my view cost us 2 flags and nothing has improved, our drafting is a disgrace and when we do get a good one, we give them away for next to nothing, if that department of the club is not changed, then nothing will changelongtimesaint wrote: ↑Sun 27 May 2018 10:13pmHindsight is a wonderful thing!parkeysainter wrote: ↑Sun 27 May 2018 10:08pm 11 years later on and I'm still seething from this decision.
