I have absolutely no doubt that the yips are in the players' heads and that each week it just builds more pressure on them.
I reckon it will eventually resolve itself.
All of the guys mentioned with the yips were very good kicks at some stage, so they obviously have the ability.

IMHO it's not a technique problem - It's in their heads
Forget Dixon - whoever is the 'psychologist at the Club needs to fix it or be replaced.
+1. Absolutely spot on.

For the previous couple of years Tim was an absolute dead-eye.
He looked like being our Jack Gunston.

But after Dixon's. Influence he's more like Norman Gunstan.

Personally I think Tim must be carrying a leg or groin injury.

If thats the case EM (injury) then the guy should be rested, for HIS good..and the Clubs.

Maybe Membrey needs a 180. Turn around and kick it over your head Members!

I know it’s “all between the ears,” but he’s gone from being a dead-eye dig to one of the last forwards you’d want lining up for a kick.

Maybe going back to the VFL and kicking a bag might do wonders for his confidence? In fact, maybe all our forwards could benefit from that? Why not? Season’s over and we’re not winning games with our best forwards in the team anyway.

Membrey had a superb game outside of his goal kicking - he is a good kick usually too. Not sure how it helps if playing well, players will fear being sent to the seconds for missing a shot.

He had a pretty damn good game.

No doubt with this bloke that he will come good.

Does Richo and the selection committee need a spell?

Membrey was brought back into the team in round 5 after injury instead of regaining some form at Sandringham. In that match against GWS he got 6 disposals and kicked a total of 2 behinds. He hasn't really got going so who's fault is that? Other teams bring back their best players through their seconds, so why don't we? Why wait for a player to regain form? I'm sure he'll come good because I think he is usually a valuable contributor, but why didn't he get a few touches in the magoos to get some confidence?

Melbourne brought their captain back from injury last week through the VFL. If it's good enough for a captain of a club, I reckon it's good enough for us. When you have guys underperforming it costs the team and you can't carry passengers for 4-5 weeks just waiting for things to turn around...wrong strategy Sainters
