In fairness to us - the draw
I know that we've been putrid so far this year, but our draw is a ******** horror show. So far we've played one team below 10th spot on the ladder (Brisbane) and every team we've played bar Brisbane, has at least four out of seven wins in the board.
We have Gold Coast and Freo over the next few weeks, who are meant to be struggling, but we get these games away, so they'll be that much harder to win.
Surely we must have the worst draw going around? Is there some website that rates each side's draw?

Re: In fairness to us - the draw
when I first saw the draw I was happy that we had Brisbane and North at home to open the season, and I was confident we'd beat Hawthorn in Tasmania.
Not so confident against Adelaide & GWS, but thought Demons a 50% chance.

Kangas also finished second last in 2017, faves for the spoon this year and have only just started their rebuild. We, on the other hand are into year 5 of our rebuild.suss wrote:I know that we've been putrid so far this year, but our draw is a ******** horror show. It’s always easy to feel like you’ve got a tough draw when you’re a bottom three team. The reason why you’re a bottom three team is because you’re not beating anybody.
Bad management is bad management

It's a FIXture not a draw.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

One of those four wins was a gimme because it was against us.

The last draw to decide who plays who was back in the 90’s I reckon.
Dunno why people use such outdated and wrong terminology

Re: In fairness to us - the draw
any team complaining about the draw should have a look at gold coast,s. there will never be one worse.

Re: In fairness to us - the draw
Round 3 Gold Coast played Freo in Perth. Round 4 Gold Coast played West Coast in Perth. Gold Coast stayed in Perth for the whole week in between Round 3 and 4 I believe. I know they played Round 3 in Perth because of the Commonwealth games but to have to stay there for the whole week is not too good. I dont think they play a home game at Metricon in the first 11 rounds.

Re: In fairness to us - the draw
Don't blame the bloody draw. If we were any good we would have beaten Geelong with half their VFL team playing.
If we were any good we would have been competitive against Hawthorn and Melbourne where we had the ball inside50 a lot more than they did. Instead; we made them like they were good teams
Didn't the AFL and Channel 7 watch any of our matches at the end of last year? We were not a team that looked like a challenger to teams in the top 8.
We even managed to score the Good Friday match and prime time Friday night games.
They must be kicking themselves for thinking that the Sainters were a team in finals contention. We're on free to air again this Saturday night - more opportunity just like the Hawthorn game - for them to see how $hit we are and to reinforce in their minds to not believe the spin from St Kilda ever again.

Re: In fairness to us - the draw
There is some article in the Herald today that is throwing stats around.
I saw that we were in the bottom four for whatever they were and just couldn't bring myself to read it.
I swear, this club gives you nothing.
If Carlton win a flag before us I will spew up.

Re: In fairness to us - the draw
That puts a realistic view on how the club continually gets screwed by the AFL doesnt it. Its a catch 22 - if they play better and win more games, they get much better attendances and likely a more favourable draw the following year.suss wrote: ↑Tue 06 Nov 2018 4:14am I'll just leave this here ...

Re: In fairness to us - the draw
It’s the AFL’s fault for not using their crystal ball to tell us which teams are going to improve prior to the season.
