Hogan set for an acadamy award nomination
.......Or at least a fine or hopefully a suspension.
And the maggot should be umpiring a game up contry next sweek ffs.

"MELBOURNE spearhead Jesse Hogan is facing a certain fine for staging.
Hogan produced one of the best games of his career with three goals and 25 possessions as part of a taller Melbourne forward line.
But Hogan may rue staging for a free kick in the third term when he fell backwards after a light push from St Kilda defender Jake Carlisle.
Hogan won the free kick but missed the set shot from 15m.
He seems certain to become the next victim of the AFL’s crackdown on staging, joining Collingwood’s Mason Cox, Brisbane Lions’ Mitch Robinson and Essendon’s Josh Green as players who have been hit with a $1000 fine.
Coach Simon Goodwin said the Demons had values they wanted to uphold on the field.
“I would have liked him to kick the goal, but if there is commentary around it, I guess we will have a look at it during the week,” Goodwin said.
“We want to be seen as a nice strong footy team.”

Hardly likely to be an issue with this Saints outfit.degruch wrote:A fat load of good a fine would have done us had we lost by a point.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

That girlie act will dog Hogan for the rest of his career.

Weak effort by Hogan. He should at least be ridiculed for it and made to wear a tutu next week.

Not sure about that as Oliver is no longer a feature in media after his fall over incident against the Eagles.Enrico_Misso wrote:That girlie act will dog Hogan for the rest of his career.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Umpires don't like it when they are decieved so hope it bites him on the arse in a final
It also highlights the fact that umpires are guessing at times. If you are not sure don't pay it!! It can unsettle players who are awarded free kicks against them when it means the stagers are awarded with a shot on goal. I saw Nathan Brown settling Carlisle down today and thought it was really good leadership from Nathan

Re: Hogan set for an acadamy award nomination
Why would an umpire give a free kick in the goal square if they didn't actually see the incident properly?
Umpiring was shocking yesterday, regardless of how poor we were playing.

What a joke. And despite that, the staging from Jetta at the other end of the ground when we were having a shot for goal was even worse.shrodes wrote:AFL backs Hogan

This is a 90kg grown man. They are treating us like pre schoolers. This game is fast becoming a s*** stain in the world of 'elite' sport.

Let me get this straight.
An AFL employee backed up a cheating maggot who is also employed by the AFL?

Lucky Carlisle didn't get a fine for that actually. It was there when they show it from the correct angle.shrodes wrote:Here's the footage that cleared Hogan

Re: Hogan set for an acadamy award nomination
The AFL deemed open hand insufficient force to warrant a fine for Carlisle, but sufficient enough force and high contact to find Hogan not guilty of staging. At the same time, there they have reiterated there was enough force to award a free kick, but not to warrant a report for striking...Jacks Back wrote:Lucky Carlisle didn't get a fine for that actually. ...sounds like the usual crap we've come to expect from the agenda driven administration.

Yes the usual inconsistency.
It appears the "Staging" rule is now out the window.
I bet Greg "9 weeks" Williams wishes Michael Christian was running the tribunal two decades ago?
