Unfortunately the Saints made themselves look like an inept rabble.

The Dees just went through the motions, used the ball cleanly, fed off our mistakes and ran out easy winners.


At one stage we surged back only to give up three shots on goal and turn the ball over repeatedly so that the Dees could open up the margin.

Richo's numbers at the ball gameplan is deeply flawed, but more than that our players are playing in a panic most of the time. Skills are poor due to lack of confidence, and teamwork is poor due to lack in faith of team mates needing to be out in space (though largely driven by Richo having gameplan demanding to have numbers at the contest.


Time after time we just handball back into packs. I actually enjoy watching Hickey handball as he always seems to find a team mate in space, and a long handball at that. Contrast that with the 2m handballs of most mids, normally to a team mate under the pump. I am sure that Hickey is breaking the team rule though....

Melbourne are certainly better coached and have Gawn. Two really big advantages over us.
