I have been saying he had class for a while but still green. Which means pump more games into him. Yes he will makes errors but man he does some good things as well. How good was his hits in the first half. good day today regardless of scoreboard

TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Con Gorozidis wrote:Wtf are you talking about?parkeysainter wrote:And if the Saints fans with pitchforks ever had their way then young players like Dunstan, Long, Ross and McCartin wouldn't be out there today! Lol!
The pitch fork brigade have been all about playing the youngsters.
The pitch forks are out for Geary, Koby, Brown, Gilbo and Armo.
You are so full of s*** it isn't funny.

Exactly Con...I'm glad Paddy kicked 3...decent effort. But not amazing nor is it worthy of applause...it's his flippin job! He is meant to kick 2-4 every game as a professional AFL forward. He hasn't blown anyone's mind...except those whose standards are so low an average day on the ground means its a parade with fairy dust and pony rides.
What hurts is we just played how any team should. We were not amazing...we got a GWS team with injury and flat for whatever reason and we played decent and still lost.
Yes Roberton was out but I have yet to see him turn a game on its head...he's no doubt a great rebounder I really like him.. but he's still not A grade...close.
Youth has always been our way forward and we still need to get rid of more...the issue is Richo turns second year young guns into chumps...

Re: What a STAR !!!
Not sure why every second post on this thread is some f#*^kwits bitching amongst themselves, but I guess this is saintssational
Long was outstanding today most especially in the last quarter
As already mentioned he tackles with serious intention and of course his goal was for the highlights reel - but what I liked was that he was in everything - he was a game changer creating turnovers - it was great to watch

And Webster, Marshall and Bruce.
GWS arent the only team with players missing through injury..

Re: What a STAR !!!
This. I really couldn't see it with Long last year. Hardly touched the ball and when he did would either get caught or turn it over.Vazelos wrote:Long's game was coming for a couple of weeks now..
Only 9 games he is going to be an excellent player...
Great to see Paddy do well on top that mad eme very happy...
There has been a noticeable difference this year though. Even while not getting loads of possessions, he's started to take really strong marks, hard tackles and hitting more targets. Small improvements every game and today was a fantastic effort for such a young player. Pick 25 is looking like a bargain.

That goal was unforgettable.
A star is born!
Now a brand new mild steel nail that is as tough as nails come.
Any update on your thoughts that he is being gifted games due to being indigenous and his surname?

The list is long and makes sad reading.SydneySainter wrote:Who on earth has been saying that Dunstan, Long and Ross should be traded?parkeysainter wrote:I'm sure some have but there have plenty with no idea saying young players like Ross, Dunstan, Billings, Paddy, Long, etc. are no good and should be traded.Teflon wrote:I think saints fans with pitch forks have been saying for a while play kids that possess some skills??parkeysainter wrote:And if the Saints fans with pitchforks ever had their way then young players like Dunstan, Long, Ross and McCartin wouldn't be out there today! Don’t persist with B grade plodders who can’t kick
Very simple
But I could't be bothered naming them.
They know who they are unless they are in complete denial.

Errr, I might have been wrong on Long. Only class players kick goals like that at times like that. On reflection he moves well

Re: What a STAR !!!
Great to see him getting up to speed.
We are very hard on young players...he has been on the improve for the last couple of weeks and looked like he belonged out there yesterday.
Coffield and Clark already looking really good.

Indeed he does, I haven't seen anyone hit that hard since the great Lenny Hayes.Joey wrote:He tackles to hurt. There was one on the wing that we heard the hit

Re: What a STAR !!!
+1. And still. Watching Geary and Gilbert in the same backline is hideous - effort and intensity not in question ... & then they’ll revert to type and butcher the crap out of it undoing all their positive/pleasing work.Con Gorozidis wrote:Wtf are you talking about?parkeysainter wrote:And if the Saints fans with pitchforks ever had their way then young players like Dunstan, Long, Ross and McCartin wouldn't be out there today!
