Riewoldt Head Coach
I don't give a flying tossbag that he has no experience.... experience has counted for jack for Alan Richardson
The bloke IS St.Kilda.
His standards were second to none, he's inspiring, he's smart and he sure as hell wouldn't put up with any of these insipid efforts.
Lenny and Harves assistant coaches, and reclaim our club.
I know it would be a massive gamble- but at least it would reinvigorate the supporter base which, lets face it, with 19,000 there tonight- are clearly staying away in droves.

Re: Riewoldt Head Coach
He'd need a few years as an Assistant before he went there, if that's what he was passionate about doing.
I don't reckon Harvey is a great Coach, there is no sign of that.

Re: Riewoldt Head Coach
I would actually rather Lenny as a senior coach. Not a player who was necessarily blessed with freakish ability like Roo, but my word did he work his guts off to get the most out of himself. That’s the kind of player you want as a coach.
I’d be worried that if we made Roo senior coach so soon after his retirement, it would be another Voss or Buckley situation.

Harves is an assistant to a control freak called Nathan BuckleyLinton Lodger wrote:He'd need a few years as an Assistant before he went there, if that's what he was passionate about doing.

Not a Coach!!!
So lets reserve judgement on whether Harves is a good, bad or great coach until he gets a gig

Re: Riewoldt Head Coach
If GWS win it this year, then let's get Lenny. At least he can lay claim to having premiership experience
Actually that's a bit harsh on Banger and Roo, but in all seriousness unless you've been an assistant coach within a premiership club, then don't bother sending your resume. Or...If desperate for a gig or you know someone that might want to coach St Kilda, please pm your resume to stonecold.

Re: Riewoldt Head Coach
A very big NO from me for roo on so many levels
But mainly if you remember the 80s the 70s - the parade of stkilda people coaching and running the club
Not good times but you couldn't tell if you visited the social club and disco later that night
You poach the best available from other clubs or you look for sustained success of a coach as he/she progresses up from juniors to vfl etc

Donald Tumpf! He'll Make the saints great again!
"Is this the right room for an argument?"
"I told you once."
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."
"Listen, an argument isn't just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says, it's a series of statements designed to support a particular conclusion."
"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

Re: Riewoldt Head Coach
I suspect Roo's perfectionism would lead both he and the team into a bottomless void. A significant number of the current crop of players wouldn't be able do what Roo asked and it in the end it would drive them all crazy.

Whispers also abound that whilst he was 'appreciated' he was not entirely liked by some of the team.
