Saints website says he had the most possessions of any saint in either match - did some good things - had a howler of a tackle attempt that we all seem to be remembering as his major contribution - but if you put that aside he has had a pretty good nightsaintbob wrote:Koby, Lonie and Rice were absolutely terrible.
Why, why, why did we keep Lonie, I feel embarrassed every time he’s out there

Exactly right, they wouldn’t have offered Ricey a further two years last year if they thought he wasn’t going to make it.parkeysainter wrote:C'mon posters....this was nothing more than a pre-season training session x 2. This was a game of high school lunch time half field AFL football basically. Only certain players will ever be suited to this AFLX.
Lets not bag the players already somewhat given that this AFLX is really just garbage. Rd 1 is still weeks away. There are plenty of training and practice matches to come.
Blind Freddy could tell a player like him isn’t suited to aflx, he’ll definitely be suited to afl though smart footy brain and a good user.

Hope you're right - based on the Saints podcast they seem to think highly of him and praise his footy brain. Think it was Roberton who called him the most natural footballer on the list.Saintly66 wrote:Exactly right, they wouldn’t have offered Ricey a further two years last year if they thought he wasn’t going to make it.parkeysainter wrote:C'mon posters....this was nothing more than a pre-season training session x 2. I personally will trust the club, coaches and players who are involved with Rice day after day. Ten minutes of kids footy watched by many on a TV screen proves nothing.shrodes wrote:Hope you're right - based on the Saints podcast they seem to think highly of him and praise his footy brain. Same as Koby Stevens. He is not suited to AFLX at all, but he is a junkyard dog that I would have in a Saints side before many players. You know he will give it all when playing in a 120 minute game of tight and hard at it finals footy for example. They are true footballers.
