Captain Jarryn Geary has set the standard this pre-season, winning the opening 3km time trial in December from Ed Phillips and backing up with another win in January. Midfielder Nathan Freeman finished fourth in the most recent run as he pushes to make his debut in 2018, while wingman Daniel McKenzie pushed up to second.
Previous stars: Ruckman Ben McEvoy has always kept pace with the best distance runners and he pushed Geary in his early years at the club and built a solid reputation that he took to Hawthorn

Re: Freeman WILL debut this year!
Last chance saloon for him this year. Too long to be in the system without getting a game regardless of the reasons why. He did well last year in the time trials from memory as well which is good so no more reasons why he shouldn't be a start relating to hammy's, it should now be is he good enough. Saw him a few times last year at Sandy and to be honest he didn't stand out in the few games I saw. He wasn't bad but not good either. And his speed was not there which is why we got him. He will debut, be ok, then returned to Sandy unless he has trained his arse off this preseason

After a solid JLT series he plays the first half of the season in the VFL, breaks into the seniors and plays the majority of the second half of the season. Looking better with every quarter he spends on the ground. Well that’s what I hope with Freezer anyway.

Am I correct in thinking it’s been a long time since he actually did a hammy?

Yes, but he did an ankle in round 18 last year and didn't return. Time for him to step up.Darth Vader wrote:Am I correct in thinking it’s been a long time since he actually did a hammy?

Yes.Darth Vader wrote:Am I correct in thinking it’s been a long time since he actually did a hammy?
His last injury (ankle) was caused by team mate accidentally rolling on him. So that was just downright bad luck rather than his body letting him down.

I’m not blaming the man, Freeman’s last injury was very unlucky but some players seem to be less “lucky” than others and are destined to find different ways to get injured I hope Freeman isn’t another Daniel Markworth.

Horrible news for him if the report is accurate.

No sign of him sprinting though? Anyone can walk around and look fine with a hamstring strain. Might be a minor one.SaintPav wrote:Poster on Bigfooty claims he saw him walking around and that he looked fine.

Walking without obvious restriction.SaintPav wrote:Poster on Bigfooty claims he saw him walking around and that he looked fine.
So he should be fine for a 3 hour match simulation, which is identical to strolling from the car park to a desk.
Right......

No need for snark... at this point until the club confirms anything, we're all just posting what we knowWellardSaint wrote:Walking without obvious restriction.SaintPav wrote:Poster on Bigfooty claims he saw him walking around and that he looked fine.
