Pick 34 and 45
I'm pretty sure Trout and friends will pick the two best mids available to us with 7 and 8. Also fairly sure that they have a list taking shape as to which midfield players they want in order. It would be great if a couple of teams before the Saints pick a couple of key positon players to fill their needs. It would allow more midfielders to slip down to 7 and 8 which will benefit us.
But what about pick 34 and 45?
I'm not really sure what we need to be honest especially if we pick 2 x mids with 7 and 8.
I think we have enough key backs and forwards now (4-5 players at both ends). The midfield will be set due to the above. Plenty of rucks around. Also think we have enough medium to small backs. Maybe a goal sneak? Curious to know who they are looking at picking.

I very much hope not.parkeysainter wrote: Maybe a goal sneak?
That far back I think it is case of have a large list of probables and then just taking whatever player we rank the highest.parkeysainter wrote:Curious to know who they are looking at picking.
Having said that I personally would not want either a ruckman or a goalsneak (small).
In ranking the players I am hoping the footskills get a high weighting. Pace would be nice. But yes footy smarts always needs to be a factor.

Best available player....when you get too cute you miss opportunities...
You are not going to single out list deficiencies in 3rd and 4th round picks you go for player quality over player type.

I like this list, and pretty much second it.SMS wrote:34

We could get lucky.
Ling will be gone in the 20’s for sure.
I don’t think Zac Bailey will still be around come 45 though (would be nice)
And for some reason, I just don’t like the idea of Liam Ryan. I can’t help but think of Liam jurrah. I can see it going badly. That being said, by the time you get to pick 45, it is time to make risks, and hope they pay off.
I see McCartin as a good one to grab if we can. If anything, it will help paddy stay with the club long term.
