Saints ladies again taking a stand

Give a Frock
The Give a Frock campaign will see women across the football community donate dresses worn at tonight's Brownlow, as well as other pre-worn cocktail dresses, to Sacred Heart Mission to then be auctioned off. For more information visit www.sacredheartmission.org
Last year, the Saints bucked the trend on the Brownlow red carpet with D’Arne Finnis (wife of CEO Matt Finnis), Jo Richardson (wife of Senior Coach Alan Richardson) and Karen Masson (partner of President Peter Summers) all donning pre-loved gowns purchased from Sacred Heart Mission. The dresses each cost just $8, with money raised from these purchases providing three meals to people in need.
Off the back of the support received by the secondhand showstoppers, the women of St Kilda have joined with ladies across the AFL to kickstart the Give a Frock campaign. The campaign aims to continue to raise awareness for Sacred Heart Mission and the brilliant work they do for the community.
This initiative will see women across the football community donate dresses worn at tonight’s Brownlow, as well as other pre-worn cocktail dresses, to Sacred Heart Mission. The dresses will then be auctioned off at Sacred Heart Mission’s Chapel St Op Shop Auction on November 2 at Prahran Town Hall.

Geez it's 9:48pm and after another 15 ads they are only half way through.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Time for Netflix.
I've watched more ads than the actual brownlow. It used to be fun to watch in the old days. Now its boring as batshit.

Re: Brownlow 2017
wonder if Gillon has asked Ch 7 to cut the ads
or if someone has mentioned the bills only paid till midnight.
took them an hour to do 5 rounds and he has done 5 in 10 minutes

I've always watched it live other years but I have got tired of the amount of ads and how drawn out it is.saintbrat wrote:standard for Ch 7 in programs they think will be watched-Darth Vader wrote:Channel 7 needs to get more ads in.
This year I recorded and can fast forward to the parts that have some interest.

Regardless of Dusty being so laconic, there was something about his presence during his big moment on the podium that suggests he's a such an endearing fellow and a real live wire to be around.
But Netflix is so lame.Con Gorozidis wrote:parkeysainter wrote:Time for Netflix.

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Re: Brownlow 2017
I didn't pay any attention but just looked at the results now.
Is it any co-incidence that players get more votes than ever now? Surely the best players in the comp aren't more dominant than ever...I really think it has to do with the saturation of media coverage, turning very, very good players like Dangerfield and Martin into demigods.
It's such a flawed award, isn't it? Club B&F is the only valid one, really.

Re: Brownlow 2017
I was so expecting Dusty's date to give him a big kiss.
Gillon and the AFL would have been so delighted.

It should be the best three players on the ground but votes out of 10.
Current system gives three times as many votes for BOG than third best on ground.
