Re: Armitage up for trade
A player that pretty much wasn't sited in 2017 due too chronic injury. Approaching 30 on a back ended contract.
Must be with a first round selection at the trade table.
We will pretty much have to pay for him anyway so might as well keep him as a viable backup or try and use him in a different capacity.

Re: Armitage up for trade
There is a bloke on Twitter calls himself "AFL Trade Shouter". Said on Sept 12:
"David Armitage had a bit of Jake Stringer about his exit interview.
Almost certain to return back to Queensland.
Hard to judge his worth"

sure...it's easy to get on twitter and type a rumour in 140 characters or lessGershwin wrote:There is a bloke on Twitter calls himself "AFL Trade Shouter". Said on Sept 12:

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

so he's still looking,
I would be surprised if he responds at all, in the next few weeks.
His bro is enjoying the end-of-season.
Woody wouldn't want to get into any discussions with us, why would he (woody!!!!!!)

Re: Armitage up for trade
We tried to off load him last year for Rockliff but were turned down very swiftly.
He is turning 30 and his body has failed 2 years in a row, I don't know who would take him and we would get nothing for him.

Armitage should have been traded 2 years ago - has to go this year. Is a solid work horse only...

Tigs offers pick 12 and we rejected it.Impatient Sainter wrote:Armitage should have been traded 2 years ago - has to go this year. Is a solid work horse only...
That year Jake Lever went at pick 14.

Very fond memories of Qld, nicest folk in the country, bar none.
Spent many many Christmases there.

Perhaps, with hindsight. He was our best mid at that stage though so easy after the event.The_President wrote:Tigs offers pick 12 and we rejected it.Impatient Sainter wrote:Armitage should have been traded 2 years ago - has to go this year. Is a solid work horse only...

"Home" is Mackay and no AFL club is based there. No AFL team for 1000km in fact. So he is not going to go "home" and play at AFL level.

Re: Armitage up for trade
Worth a late second rounder at best.
Would clear salary cap space that we're not short of anyway.
Probably better keep even if only depth.

Re: Armitage up for trade
Can't believe people are writing off David Armitage. The same people who wrote off Sam Gilbert, I suppose. Seriously, go back and look at his form before he got injured. It's been an unlucky couple of seasons, but Armitage is a very fine player.

At one stage, a very good player, but unless he develops more pace and can stay injury free at this late stage in his career- he will struggle.cwrcyn wrote:Can't believe people are writing off David Armitage.
