The way GWS is looking Kelly will leave.

Kelly is their best player by a distance-he would be enormous for us if we could get him.
One year will be our year

Re: Dutch Auction - J. Kelly
Tonight, Kelly looks like a player that would be getting overs if someone offered him $500K.
Players salaries are slowly getting out of control, at the same rate as the U/18s are struggling to produce more than a handful of A grade players each year.

Will we pick up a player in the SSP window

Re: Dutch Auction - J. Kelly
At the end of the day. A club has to pay 95% of the cap which I assume runs in the millions somewhere high. If the market and AFL system demands a player gets 1 million a year then so be it. Same as if someone pays 3 million for a house in Frankston. If someone can afford to buy it for that much then thats what its worth.bobmurray wrote:Tonight, Kelly looks like a player that would be getting overs if someone offered him $500K.

At the of the day though, these blokes are just playing a sport. They aren't brain surgeons or rocket scientists that change mankind so I agree with you too.

Re: Dutch Auction - J. Kelly
If hope we are offering him a 5 year, $6 million contract in which he is on 1.3 mil for the first three years and then 1 mil for the last two . It is much more than the Giants could offer while being reasonable enough to not cripple our club in the future

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn
