Had a blistering start to the season and I feel like injury and maybe fitness has curtailed the final third of his season and really brought his stat numbers down.

Certainly he exceeded all of my expectations in terms of the standard of form he was able to achieve... had written him off several years back. Pbly a top 10 player this season.

I'm happy that Sam stays on for another year. At 31 and the bash and crashness of his style, I think I'd like to see the club be smarter in the way they use him from here on in. Simply put, he's not a 25 game a season but a guy that pbly benefits from having a few periods a year where he has a week or two off to staff fit and energised.
