What makes you think the St Kilda Guernsey's are owned by Hird? I think it more likely that the said items just happen to be after Hird's stuff.

Most of that Saints stuff was in the last sports auction they had about 3 months ago, and was passed in.
They had a copy of "The Point of it All" which I had a decent crack at, but got outbid in the end. And Jack Newnes's jumper from Rooey's 300th went for about $240 I think, which in hindsight was a pretty good price.
But definitely not all from Hird's collection.
