Turning point game
Let me start by saying I haven't felt more devastated and crushed by a loss for a long, long time. Probably since 2009.
But I feel tonight may be the beginning of something. The genesis of the post-Riewoldt era.
On the road in a town in which we seldom win and we were dead stiff not to get the points. Dead stiff. They don't come more heartbreaking than that.
What I saw was a group of youngish guys with real spirit and desire. The polish and composure will come. We were far, far better than I expected.

Re: Turning point game
AR needs to hold his nerve now though and keep playing the 'kids' and not go for the soft option of rushing back half injured veterans. And he needs to drop the players who didn't produce today - and there were a few of them, and replace them with young players producing in the reserves. I would say Marshall is definitely one, Rice is another, McCartin should play seniors, and O'Kearney and Battle could come in too. We can have a send off game for the retiring champions in our final home game or the last game of the year against Richmond at the G, but we need to look to 2018 now. 2017 is gawn - no looking back.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

We shall see. It's a new dynamic with no Riewoldt and no Joey out there. Guys will step up.
But if you prefer to abandon all hope I will leave you to it.

Re: Turning point game
This was a sink or swim game after the crushing loss last week.
You either sink into patheticness, or rise above it f****** win. We did the latter, which is excellent.

Re: Turning point game
the lads had 87 more possessions than the Cokers
A heap more forward entries, but wasteful.
Only when they spotted up someone did they look impressive.
Letting Cokers run free all the time on a rebound is a concern.

Re: Turning point game
I hope so .. Because his errors and misses have killed us .. This year.
This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.
