Thought he might get 3 down to 2.
Might depend on the medical report, which has way too much say in these things. If Grimes has a fractured cheekbone or something like that, it probably explains it.
Oh well, he will be a good inclusion for the last month of the year and then finals.

Where's the confirmation?
Can't see any official announcement either on AFL.com or Twitter feed.
Won't believe until I see it.
Has to be 3 downgraded to 2 or tribunal.
I think.

Thats a real shame for the team - His exciting to watch when his on.
The Tiger and the Lion may be more powerful, but the Wolf does not perform in the circus.

I cant think what got into him as I've not seen him do anything like that before.
Very poor and he has let the team and the supporters down just when we are getting on a good run.

Outraegous decision.
Careless - maybe? Probably.
But nothing more than that. He'd committed to the contest and had to attack it. He's also was within his rights to protect himself too.

No.
3 was always on the cards. 2 was optimistic imho.
Shame.
But gives one of Acres, McCartin or Hickey a chance to add game reasonable game time.

Re: Members offered 3
This doesn't sound right.
I don't think it can be graded as 4 down to 3.
I thought 3 was the max before it went to the tribunal.
Careless, high contact, medium impact is 2 down to 1 with an early plea.
High impact is 3 down to 2
Any higher and he's off to the tribunal.

Re: Members offered 3
I think Leo.J is correct.
If it's deemed 'intentional', because the impact was high (assuming it's deemed high) and itwas to the head - he goes straight to the tribunal.
If it's deemed 'careless' (which I think it is), high impact to the head - then it's 3 down to 2 with a plea.
Not sure how you can be offered 3?

Re: Members offered 3
God I love reading this forum!
If this was Rance hitting Rooey it would be "that filthy dog should get 8 weeks".
Because its a Saints player it was an accident and he should be let off
Most objective posters on this site predicted 3-4 on Saturday night with hope of 2.
Get real guys, whether deliberate or accidental or just sloppy, Membery has a duty of care and hit Grimes in the cheekbone with an extended forearm.
Grimes was attempting to mark with eyes on ball and the forearm was extended and not tucked into a bump position.
The guys cheek blew up like a balloon and he left the field a short time later not returning.
Do you think he can walk away from that without significant suspension?
Is the suspension a St Kilda rule???

Didn't the mods suspend a poster for inaccurate "rumours" posted as fact?

Not released publicly until then, but I think I heard either Richo or Chris Scott talking about in on 360, that the clubs are notified around lunchtime. So not completely unreasonable that Bazza Breen has heardsaintsRrising wrote:BazzaBreen66 wrote:Membry has been offered 3... bloody disgraceful.. accidental knock.

I don't think he's a thug type of player Members. It was in play, he was late to the contest and he raised his arm to protect himself. I would have thought three down to two, given a previously clean record. It looked bad, but it was most probably accidental.

Aren't people just suggesting 'careless' instead of 'intentional' which means 3 down to 2?
If it's deemed intentional then he's straight to the tribunal as per the rules.

If BazzaBreen66 is correct then i think we have another ITK joining the forum as he told us the ins for the Tigers game well ahead of the announcement .
Welcome aboard Bazza now tell us who we are really going after for next years team.
