Longer out next week
Reports are Longer is out with a thigh injury..
Hickey is taken out for today's Zebras game for some reason..
Membrey may get rubbed out and Webster has another week...
Senior players not in the team need to take their chance and play for their spot.
Membrey was outstanding last night you can see he has hit form...

Just watched the replay of the incident. I think unfortunately that you can make that a will.
So if Longer is injured and does not come up, that will probably be Hickey and Paddy both in.
No other change as our 3 ins this week all went ok (Savage was excellent) and we had no bad players.
In addition the Dons, like the Tigers, area very quick team and so quicker players like Long, DMak and Savage assist in combating this.

Re: Longer out next week
Well it might not be a certainty that Longer is out, but it is good thinking to keep Hickey out just in case he doesn't come up.
I would feel that maybe they should do the same with Acres.
Mind you, scheduling is pretty ordinary having Sandringham play today when we have a Friday night game.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Yep, 5 day break not enough if we need him to ruck for most of the game against the Bombers.bigcarl wrote:I dare say Hickey is out because we need him next week

Probably will find that someone will only play half a game as back up and to be a genuine emergency for the Dons game..Bruce G McAbee wrote:Well it might not be a certainty that Longer is out, but it is good thinking to keep Hickey out just in case he doesn't come up.

Paddy, who already is not playing, most likely in for Membrey.

Re: Longer out next week
Hmmm...
Super disappointed for Longer who looked like he was finally finding his feet, but on the other hand...
The prospect of a long awaited return for Hickey who now knows that he needs to bring it if he wants in for September is kind of exciting too

Re: Longer out next week
Richo said post match he got a corkie early. Seemed to battle on pretty well. I noticed he went down and stayed down for a while later on in the game, thought he might have been knocked out, but maybe just copped a whack. I think he ended up with some head bandage after that.Vazelos wrote:Reports are Longer is out with a thigh injury..

Poor Billy. He plays his best game of AFL footy and hurts himself in the process.

Re: Longer out next week
Paddy? You've got to be joking! The kid was dropped to the reserves, played 8 minutes, knocked himself out and has missed 2 further weeks. we structure up with Hickey drifting fwd which he can do or we go with the 2 big fwds in Roo and Bruce and bring in pace to counter the bomber pace. It would be an unmitigated disaster if they brought Paddy in.saintsRrising wrote:Vazelos wrote: Membrey may get rubbed out and Webster has another week...

Paddy wasn't dropped. Missed a week with injury. But it does mean he has played very little at any level in the last four weeks.Moods wrote:Paddy? You've got to be joking! Re: Longer out next week
Yeah right. So Paddy missed a week with injury and then had to play VFL.
