The book still likes us against North...
The book still has us favourites against North ($1.75 to $2.10). If we disregard interstate games, and think of more recent local games, we are 4-4 at Docklands, North are 4-5. We have beaten GWS, they have beaten Adelaide. They have more close losses (WB and Geelong).

Very interesting!
I think a lot of punters will be quick to get behind the Roos at those odds, so I would expect that to change during the week.

Re: The book still likes us against North...
North is another team that has beat us up over the last few years. They aren't that good, but they know they can beat us.
If we are to progress, or at least arrest the slide, we need to win this one.

I'm getting quite worried about this game. This one is make or break, really. A win would restore some confidence, but a loss could have us on the the downward spiral and a lot of questions will start to be asked about the current team and Alan Richardson's capabilities as coach.

Good clubs do a review when the questions have to be asked. It didn't hurt Geelong and Richmond seem to have handled their review well.Sainternist wrote:I'm getting quite worried about this game. We need Roo in the forward line, in the backline, in the ruck and also as a outside runner!saintspremiers wrote:No Roo, no chance of winning this week

When was the last time we beat North? They seem to have had our measure the past few seasons.

This. Talk about a must win. If we lose this one,me may as well lock the doors and sweep up the woods, because nothing from there on will come to any good!bigcarl wrote:SaintPav wrote:bigcarl wrote:When was the last time we beat North? They seem to have had our measure the past few seasons.

The Perth game this year had me hopeful that the young blokes had learnt some important lessons on preparation, etc,White Winmar wrote:This. Talk about a must win. because we could have won that if not for a combination of
poor decisions from our guys and poor umpiring. Big turnaround from last year.
Tassy game had me excited too.
Last 3 matches I have changed my mind, and they've just gone back into their shells.
Norf has a habit of touching us up, and their first qtr against the Crows shows their gameplan
and mindset are unstoppable if they get first use and get their tails up.
If they win clearances early, and slice through the corridor,
first qtr could end up as 8-10 goal lead,
from which we won't recover.
Our guys had a great run in Tassy, because they were bold, and everyone Excelled, we were unreal on the Spread(sheet)
but when we get worried, we overhandball and get found out.
Norf would have watched the Swines game, where they had #4 sitting free outside the contest, and he just got spoonfed.
We can't let their guys do that.
I predict scoreline to be
1st qtr....10 goals to 2
Halftime..17 to 3
3 qtr........23 to 5
End..........28 to 6

some went to Byron Bay to recharge
They have learnt to play interstate, see the WCE and Tassy games.
Adelaide- totally outplayed.
They didn't show any signs of improving during the game, just got worse.
Coach had no idea how to stem the bleeding.
Press Conference showed him ashen-faced and worn out.
Is there any way they can turn it around in 7 days?
I think not.
Norf coach is cunning and is a lot better than AR.
Our list is nowhere near Norf's list.
Losing by less than 8 goals would be nice.

Re: The book still likes us against North...
I was feeling pretty positive at the start of this thread.
As i continued scrolling down that feeling was replaced by fear.
I will not be putting money on the saints with those odds.
I will not asking what is happening in the picture with the head set.
I dont want anyone to clarify what team is leading in WS post.
I also agree that's Norths coach is likely better than ours. Well he makes me feel confidant where ours not so much (i wonder if thats because i have an attachment to this team- interesting)

Re: The book still likes us against North...
I been looking at the line each week on our games, and
the bookies have been fairly close, with the exception of the Giants game.
Against the Crows, they had us losing by 38 points.
This Friday the line is 1.5 points, which says they are totally unsure
and could go either way.
If I was a bookie, I'd say Norf by 20
