We are far away....
I am sure to get bashed here but I will say as I feel
We are far off from other team which are in the middle tier. Looking at the teams around our mark I believe Melbourne, North Melbourne, Richmond, Essendon etc are ahead of us.
Our 2 best players this season are Joey and Roey which is scary as in couple of years they will be off.
I am scratching my head with the choice of our Captain, he may have leadership skills but haven't seen any so far.
Our #1 draft pick Paddy is lost confidence and is struggling, now being dropped as well.
We were 9th on the ladder last year but it may be a false indication.
I am aware that we are missing Armo and Jack but still I cant see the hunger like last year.
Prove me wrong and beat the Pies on Sunday....

Re: We are far away....
its strange. I felt like we took a step backwards from last year after the loss to melbourne. But then we were competetive in the eagles match whereas last year we would have been flogged. Also just scraped out a win against a different lions team. To early to tell I reckon.

It's a big game
Melb, Coll, Rich, Stk
Only 2 will make the 8
Then there's
Hawthorn, Essendon, Port, GC, North in that region too

Re: We are far away....
The Dees game had me sad
The Perth game was a huge one, I was convinced of 12 goal hiding.
Then rubbish game against Lions where the lads tried to lose but couldn't even get THAT right.
Not happy with the up n down, agree with Mo that hunger is missing.
Gears has NO skills except he works hard.
If they win, it will be a great sign but the rubbish inaccuracy WILL be a huge factor.
Membrey, I'm lookin at ya

Re: We are far away....
Our draft picks aren't progressing as expected, aren't playing as well as their selected position demands.
Hence, we are shite. And heading for a low ladder position..

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: We are far away....
We have built from the ground up and sometimes you can't see what's about to sprout.
I think the foundations are strong and players like Ben Long and Blake Acres will make a difference who both didn't play against the Demons. The Eagles game we should have won.
Billings and Mc Cartin not coming along has hurt us but I think we are not far off but the next summer is a defining trade period for the Saints. I have a gut feeling Battle and Phillips could be players too but it takes time.
Let's see what happens... We definitely need to nail some more class in the mid field..

Re: We are far away....
We can recreate the Vietnam War at St Kilda.
We just need Bailey Rice to debut then lose form at the same time as Long and Brown whilst Battle at the same time
finds form.
....then we can have:
Battle in for Long Brown Rice!

We were 9th on the ladder last year but it may be a false indication.
I am aware that we are missing Armo and Jack but still I cant see the hunger like last year.
Ummm, so the pies were beaten by the Saints. In your words proven wrong?
Prove me wrong and beat the Pies on Sunday....

Great effort today.
Challenge is to do it week in week out.
Great test against Cats in a weeks time.

The only game I am confident about is the Suns, and even that one is a stretch.mohannair wrote:After few promising weeks we are sliding down again.
Looking at the draw our next win seems far far away.
All the others, ys, even Essendope, we will lose, and if we play like yesterday,
losses by 10+ goals are on the cards.

Its a sorry state WellardSaint, just a few weeks ago we were on track for a Top 4 and all downhill after the Carlton gameWellardSaint wrote:The only game I am confident about is the Suns, and even that one is a stretch.mohannair wrote:After few promising weeks we are sliding down again.

Re: We are far away....
Our two best this year are Seb and Dylan. By a mile.
Then it is Webster, Newnes, Roo, Steven, Billings, Steele, Brown and Carlisle.

Sorry to bring this up again, but tonight's performance is unacceptable. Even super stars like Jackie boy is fumbling.
Not sure if there is any positives from the night.

Who would he replace in Collingwood's midfield?
