MInch can't quite step up and stay up.
Desperately need Bruce back in this side.
Paddy has to stay even though his form probably doesn't warrant it.
We need to see how he goes with 6 or 7 in a row so we can see what we've bought for our investment.
We're not going to win it this year, and will struggle to make the 8 so we can afford to experiment a little.
Would like to see White get a run again at some stage.
Nee!

This, if Webster is right to go. Hickey won't be far away from a return from being (managed) either.longtimesaint wrote:In : Bruce, Webster

I would like to see Long play this week as a defender and pick up the very improved Charlie Cameron

Re: Changes v Crows
Lonie has the same problem as Minch, too inconsistent at AFL Level, I'd rather go with Long and give him a good run at it!!!!!WellardSaint wrote:Give this man a cigarLinton Lodger wrote:Out: Minchington & Savage and (if Webster is fit) McKenzie

The left-footer sported a bandage on his hand but won't wear a glove if he faces the Crows.
Former captain Nick Riewoldt trained away from the main group as he recovers from bone bruising in his left knee.
The 34-year-old ran freely and is likely to be available for the following week's game against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
Skipper Jarryn Geary said Webster was right in the frame to face the Crows.
"I'm sure if he gets through training today he'll put his hand up for selection. Literally – it's obviously a broken hand," the captain joked.
"He trained strongly on Monday so I know he's pretty confident. He's being chewing Richo's (coach Alan Richardson) ear off to make sure he gets recalled."

Re: Changes v Crows
Well, Stonecold, we LOST and we LOST comprehensively (for the second week running)
THAT is the measure.
We lost for very particular reasons.
Longer's opponents have performed to a level where they have significantly impacted on the result of the games - and that, unfortunately, is a continuation in regards Longer and his performances.
He is a liability on the football field - and that is one of the reasons we are losing and comprehensively losing.
I repeat.
The summary is that we are losing, and losing comprehensively.
Yes, we have or do have Armitage, Hickey, Riewoldt and Webster on the injury List, Freeman building and Bruce consigned to the VFL.
But the absence of those 6 (and allowing Stevens for Dunstan at this juncture) has not only shown our lack of depth but also shown that some who regularly perform at AFL level have not been able to stand up in the absence of those 6 - and calls now need to be made for the future of Club performance.
Losing, and losing comprehensively in not acceptable.
Strong Clubs which compete year on year do not accept such performances and they act, regardless of "favorite son" bias.
It is a cold and calculating business.

Savage is not part of the future. He's 26 now, has clocked up 115 games, older saint wrote:In: Bruce ( obvious as rested from 2nd half in vfl), Webster (if fit) , Lonie

at which point he should be showing some real upside,
Seb has excelled, and Shane is not getting any better.
He did get 21 touches against Bulldogs but only 9 were kicks- which is supposed to be his strength.
Club needs to persist with DMack as he is part of the future.
